The OcUK distributed computing team needs YOU!

Hey, no problem. Wasn't rude - you can just guarantee someone will ask in these threads, for whatever reason. Sorry I was a bit abrupt actually. :)

Will an old 3 gig p4 be much use ? I have one on here pretty much 24/7.... I ask as really it is but a spec compared to some of the system cores I've seen mentioned in this thread. rsvp

I spent about a year on the seti@home deal approximately ten years ago which was kinda fun and cool etc. But this is the greater cause imho.

You'll get 200-250 points/day on that. For comparison, an E6600 will do 800-900. Better than nowt and if it's on anyway, but up to you. :)

Nice one everybody - I'm going to keep Rosetta going for the foreseeable future and was actually quite pleased to see myself 8th in the group for average recent output! :)

*Not bad for one quad core crunching away most of the time ...

Signed up. Just noticed this. Used to fold on my PS3 but it's not on all the time and my PC is. Joined the team too.

e6850 may not be the most powerful compared to a quadcore but hopefully get a good output :)

Surely you will still get good results even with the E6850.

Clock the nuts off it and watch it spin like a group of speed takers on a roundabout. :)

Approximately 23hrs of running and I've done 671 credits with both cores due to finish more in 1hour so estimating 800 credits in 24hrs?

That good/bad/middle?

Cpu's running at 70% forced in the Rosetta client

Why does it matter if you are overtaken? Its all for a good cause.

well competition means more people doing more work units, so if when people are over taken they get more people/spend more time on it the project advances much quicker :D
