The OcUK FIFA08 league (360): Season 2 sign up

Here's a thought.

9am will be exactly one week since the league started. So far, the top half of the table have played most of their games, and the league title has pretty much been decided.

My question is, do we want to build some tension into the league. Do we want to say the league will run for 3 weeks, and everyone has to play at least, and no more, than 10 games each week (obviously 11 in the last week).

That way, going into the last week, there will still be excitement throughout the league.

I know we'd probably need to be a bit more flexible than that, but it doesn't seem quite right that Andybtsn still has 4 games to play and most of the bottom half of the league have got nearly 20 games to play...

well I have a lot of games left and would like to play them, but I always seem to be busy in the evenings. I'm around tonight though and tomorrow all day, but not so sure about the evening yet.

Yeh, since some people take their time, and will take an age to get some games done, thenumber42 for example...
Andy may have won it, but every other spot is still very open for anyone to take, so it could be very competitive.
I also don't want the league to run for like 2 months waiting for people to play their games, so 10 games sounds pretty fair...

Whilst I like the idea of ensuring people play all their games by a certain time it hasn't worked yet. People are always off on holiday and others can only make it on at set times, whereas others have virtually all day to play games. Not to mention those of us that play 5v5 when we could really be getting league games out of the way (sorry Mark, that was me last night).

Basically, we need everyone to finish their games. Some people race through their games and are almost finished within the week. They are then bored, calling for everyone else to hurry up and distracting the rest of us (me included) with unrefusable offers to play 5v5!!!

At the end of the day, everyone needs to play all their games, regardless of if its going to effect the final league winners (especially if we introduce a handicap system going forward). If we start setting a precedent and allowing people to not complete all their games because it wont effect the outcome then it will cause more people to do it further into the game.

If however we do set a rule that a certain amount of games need to be played each week then we need to post some rules on the website that clearly state you will lose points if you dont meet the quota, and we stick by this.

However, it would be a lot better if we could have fixtures created basically advising you need to play the following 11 players this week (and if you dont, and have not shown any attempt to make yourselves available then your opponent gets the points). Obviously there is arguement here that the other party didnt attempt to play the game either, and this would cause problems, so idea failed already!:(

I think an actual fixture list would be a great idea, whether it would actually work or not I don't know.

I am always scared to invite people cause I never know if they are actually available or I just cannot remember who I have and have not played.
As my PC is no where near my Xbox its not really productive having to come and check this site every time i want to play a game.
By the time I have posted on here and got back to my tv I have normally recieved 2 or 3 invites LOL

An easy way to see if you have played someone is to scroll to the far right of the league table on Fifa and those with a 1 in the column you still need to play. Or you can just invite someone and it will tell you then if you have already played them.

As for the invite thing. If you select a player and click LB it brings up their gamer profile and you can see on there what they are currently doing, if they are in the Free Roam Area or in a live game etc...If they are available whack them an invite, or send them a PM asking them to play. They will either respond or throw you an invite when free.

I did no know that!

As for throwing invites around, I am still relatively new to online gaming and still worry about bothering people with invites when they may be busy with somethign else.

Theres no harm throwing someone an invite unless they are either ingame (and the gamer profile will show this) or they are set to busy. If I am anything but the two above I will be more than happy to receive an invite.

I will either accept it, or decline it, but if I decline it, I will give a reason.

Sentienl, it said lost connection, was 2-0 up, do you wanna play the last 20 mins in a friendly and end it after 20 or what? thanks
