For the 360 I'd say : Lost Odyssey; Oblivion(elder scrolls); Fallout3

and I'll probably get harpooned for saying this but Dead Space again for the 360...

Batman Arkham Asylum
Bioshock
Devil May Cry 4

All top games, but I was thinking of picking up Killzone 2, heard that’s meant to be a rather decent PS3 title…

COD4 should get honourable mention as well, as it is a good game.... Just too short in single player mode..

Don't bother counting em tbh, i was just gonna write up a list of the most highly thought of games and add to it whenever another good game came out.
 
or just ask people to put a top 3 of each format that they regard as AAA+ essential titles. After that a general recommended list?

1st = 5 points
2nd= 3 points
3rd = 1 point
 
Can I downgrade ones on there? I believe both Crackdown and Mass Effect to be overrated.

My recommendations are for the 360, and Im only going for three.

I will recommend -

PS3 - Uncharted and Street Fighter IV (due to the better controller)

Xbox 360 - Batman Arkham Asylum, Fifa 09 ( i think they are better on the 360!)
 
For me Xbox360 it has to be these:

Bioshock
Dead Space
GTA IV
Gears of War 1 and 2
Halo 3
Assassins Creed
Forza 2
PGR series
Madden NFL series

Those above have been the games that i have played the most and enjoyed the most on the 360
 
I don't mind helping managing the list, I don't exactly have a lot to do at the moment :\

SHould have 2 parts per console, one for exclusives, and one for others, also maybe one for multiplat games which are best one one platform, eg B:AA on PS3.
