The Office US or UK?

They're both so brilliant I don't want to decide! Btw Creed definately needs more airtime, easily the funniest character in the US version.

The UK version is the best, it's original and legit. The US version just isn't funny, I watched 10 minutes and it's not the same. You can try and recreate Gareth, David and Tim, but it's complete fail in my opinion.

nice to see you gave it a chance..

the earlier episodes were more like pilots to test ratings, it gets a lot better

I've recently re-watched all of Season 3 of The Office US and it is a an amazing show there were so many good bits during that season.

Its hard to compare the shows though - they are both completely different from one another.

I have to say the UK one but I do love the US version. I'm in the process of getting all the series. I dismissed it at 1st without giving it a chance which was exceedingly foolish of me. :)

+1

it's a bit too americanised for me, there's no subtlety or clever writing just the common formula present in a lot of average but popular american comedy.

i'm no U.S. hater either i love seinfeld/curb your enthusiasm/30 rock but the US Office doesn't do it for me.

mmmmm, may have to give the US show another go.

I love the UK office, I'm a big fan of Ricky Gervais. I've watch a couple of US Office shows but never gave it another go. Maybe they were early shows.

US version took what was one fine commedy and multiplied it to masterpiece. It no longer revolves around 5 main characters. Every single person in the background has unique role and character - from warehouse guys, through grumpy and iffy corner desk workmates to head office visitors. I loved Mackenzie Crook and his T.A. militia approach to everything in original series, but Office US is just so well scripted between characters, the layers, the overlapping gags, pranks carried between episodes. And there is more of it.

The US version doesn't take itself too seriously where as the UK one did. I don't think I would have seen David Brent trying to jump off the roof of the office onto a bouncy castle. The US is, imo better as it's funnier.

That's because the characters in the UK office have a rooting in real life... the characters in the US office are more cartoon like...

UK version by a mile. After watching the UK version I find it impossible to enjoy the US Office.

How could you NOT laugh at Ricky Gervais' fat little face! He's the funniest guy alive, ever. Can't wait to see Ghost Town, the adverts look hilarious.

I've actually just been watching all Ricky's outtakes from stuff like Extras and The Office, I don't think there's any other TV programme out there that makes me laugh as much as he does.

Well wrote.
My trick was not to judge US office by the UK Office and theres no doubt that after the first few episodes it did become its own excellent series.

U.S one is bland only Steve Carell is good rest of the cast are dreadful non entitys.

Not true. The way the script works means that every character is needed to work with the other cast, this makes them funnier (including Michael [Steve])
