Are you going to buy the 2022 Apple TV with USB-C charging on the remote?

That’s pure speculation, there’s been no rumours, nothing.

The current model AppleTV isn’t underpowered, I doubt it’s possible to find anything which actually drives it hard. I’ve got the previous version and that’s still perfect. It’s not the sort of thing which will benefit really from an M series CPU. I’m sure they’ll come at some point but if I wanted one now, I’d have no hesitation in buying the current model, despite what MR says.

Folks have been saying there's a new one coming for over a year. After waiting 6 months I just went out and bought one - as mentioned, it is in no way underpowered. Hell even my older ATV (the previous model) is faster than any other streamer.

I don’t even know which model I have. It’s a 4k one, works perfectly, and is lightning fast.

Just had a look to see what version my ATV is and couldn't find anything written on it

So i went into the setting and it says Model - A1842 64GB Am still none the wiser without googling it

Edit google says
Model number: A1842. Apple TV A1842 is the 1st generation of 4K but it is the 5th generation of all Apple versions.

I hate my 1st Gen 4K, the UI is soooo slow to respond at times. Sometimes it can be seconds and then of course it jumps passed the option you want.

I use the A2843, which is the 4K 3rd gen with Ethernet and it’s such a fantastic device for everything. Main apps in use are UHF, Infuse, F1TV, YouTube and Netflix with Tailscale running concurrently. It’s exceptional.

Of course should a new one come out I will purchase and the current one becomes a very welcome upgrade for the tv in the other room.

That’s the 2017 model, right? I’ve been noticing that a bit with mine, not as bad as you describe and actual playback seems fine.

I’ll probably replace it in the next year or two to get a snappier interface.

The only problem I have with my Apple TV is that the remote doesn't work. I've tried to reset it and everything so now i have to use my iPhone as the remote which is annoying. Not sure what is wrong with it.

I have an issue with one of my apple tv boxes. Only a few things loaded on it so tonnes of space. Paramount, netflix, prime and a few others have a cloud by the app icon. Everyday when I go to use it the app reloads. Only does it on this one unit and offload apps is selected off. I've found a thread here on the issue but no fix..
