What you using now then?

4690k incoming mate...I sold my x99 rig and used my second machine...tbh apart from benches I couldn't tell the difference between them if I'm truly honest...this got me thinking...

My second system was based on a G3258 clocked to 4.2 ghz 16gb DDR 3 so thought I'd upgrade this instead...

Bought a 4690k on mm yesterday to replace the G3258 ...In games etc...I wasn't noticing a massive difference so banked the money instead for holiday

None of us need 16gb of ram either it's just epeen.... I don't think I've ever hit 8gb using my PC even when video editing ...if I have to wait 45 seconds longer for a video to render I'm not fussed

Surprised not more x99 owners posted in here....perhaps their overclocks are not stable ?

@easyrider - what speed are you aiming for on the 4690k ?

I really like my X99 setup, I can see this lasting for quite some time for me just like my X58 rig.

Yeah...I was looking at cores when gaming and a lot of power was going unused...

I want a quick system ...but I get bored easy...I don't need 10 sata ports...I have 2x SSD's !! and HQ onboard audio....and triple PCI e lanes etc...it was just overkill for my needs...tbh I'm getting more stimulation buying cheap bits and bobs on mm and seeing how much bang for buck I can muster on very little outlay...

Yes 2400mhz is a great divider for 100 strap. Should probably be able to run it at not shy off stock SA voltage on a good IMC. Still can't beat 3200 at 1T



Oh if only you knew (read understood) the truth! If people coming in and saying they were failing RB 2.4 in minutes after doing an 8 hour run of AIDA without cache wasn't enough of a sign for you, then not sure what would be. I explained to you the reasons why this - as a test of unconditional system stability was pointless yet you still make posts like this

Then others posted other benches ... Can't find yours in this thread ?
