M416 is a good assault rifle once various bits are unlocked.

Ditto AK5C for Carbines as a good all-rounder. ACW-R still remains a close range beast.

MG4's good as an LMG, although it's quite far down the unlock list. I used the Type 88 LMG for a good while as I unlocked a fair few things for it at the beginning. It's not very accurate, though tap-firing helps.

Recon, can't help you there as I like playing recon with a Close-range carbine (ACW-R) + Motion sensors.
 
Carbine:

Best @ Long Range = AK5C & G36C
Best @ Short Range = ACW-R & ACE52

Assault Rifles:

Best All Ronder = M416
Best @ Short Range = AEK
Best @ Long Range = Scar H (best used with short accurate bursts)

LMGs:

Best Heavy LMGs = M240B & MG4
Best Light LMGs = AWS (naval strike only) none of the others light LMGs are worth using

PDWs:

Best @ Short Range = CZ3A1 & UMP45
non are very good at long range

Sniper

SRR61 Intervention. Nobody uses anything else

Shotgun

Best Pump Action = 870
Best Semi Auto = DBV12

Weapons are personal i find, i prefer the SAR-21 with a scope to anything else SCAR inc even if the stats don't always back it up - however i find the SAR-21 like a laser with a 3.4/4x scope and heavy barrel!

SRR61 is defi the best sniper mind!
 
I enjoy using the M16A4, takes a bit getting used to with it being burst fire but it's super accurate with good damage. I prefer it to the M416 anyway.

Anyone on xbox one playing tonight?

Yeah i'll be on 9pm UK time onward. Couple of weapon battle-packs and a suppressor for the MG4 are the order of the day for me.

oooh, just seen the load out preset's on battlelog. Good feature, but lets hope the loadouts actually apply themselves in-game :)

Think i've got both of ya's in friends list, if not, GT is below :)
 
Decided to use the mortar on rush, work quite well and got a few kills with it without having to be anywere near it so no chance of me getting killed stupidly. so the next map lancang dam loaded and I started the same again, until my team mate shot it and the ps4 froze.
Reloaded got back on lancing dam with a friend, got him to shoot my mortar and again it froze. Everytime I play i find a new problem.
 
Trying to unlock some of the new guns but I don't get anywhere and get fed up trying. Do the ribbons have to be on the naval strike maps? Like for the AA mine, I need 3 PDW ribbons but I'm terrible with them. Probably be quick on metro or deathmatch etc.
 
Played last night with some mates and was terrible. 1st night back in weeks and I was MVP loads of times but 2nd night on and I was struggling to be in the top 10 for some reason. Framerate drops were insane though which didn't help - plus playing Locker and Flood Zone as 2 of the 6 rounds!
 
Finally got the AA mine last night, thought it was going to be awesome but what a let down. The damage they do seems equivalent to what a firework would do.

Will try get that AWS next, everyone seems to be using it.
