*** The Official Battlefield 5 thread***

I love how utterly broken the towing mechanic is, you tow an AA vehicle to a good spot, you detach it and get on it. More often than not when you start firing it it randomly bounces up and down while at the same time it starts propelling itself around the place. I seen a guy earlier firing one on a flat surface on panzerstorm and within a few shots he was rolling down the hill that was about 30 feet behind him.

It really baffles me how this kind of thing goes unnoticed, even if you look at the stationary AA positions a lot of them are cluttered with a lot of other things that gives you a very limited field of fire. The field of fire is further limited by sandbags around the gun that even if you're aiming slightly above them seem to somehow be in the way and take hits. Not to mention that AA is again currently useless, planes can fly straight at you absorb all your fire and dump a few bombs in your lap.

New skin is quite snazzy though, now if Dice would just fix the systemic damage and increase the virtually non existent splash damage these might be vaguely usable.

lol yeah I've pretty much given up on tanks at the moment due to no splash damage, BF1 was much better!

That and the damage system screws you over no end, the game seems to love disabling your tracks regardless of where you get hit. So you end up trying to limp away with infantry spamming panzerfausts at you. =/

They have been trying to heavily monetize Battlefield since Battlefield 4. That is all they care about since getting rid of the season pass, which in itself, is a money grab. I don't blame Dice. This game is a shambles. I have played over a hundred hours of this game it is a Sh**t show. There is too many people trying to cater to too many people. Hacks are out of hand. At least BF1 worked. Sure some of its design choices were bad(grenade spam)but it was relatively working ok. I don't see how they can fix it.

I have also seen a few videos of cheating, and been a victim of it myself. So much negative stuff about this game,.I can't believe they have messed it it up much.

Really it's down to EA, they want a battlefield game one year and a battlefront game the next so development time is getting squeezed tight. At this point it's obvious these games are too big to squeeze them into that kind of time frame. Maybe they'll take note of that with the lower sales of this game and either add more manpower or increase development time.

Doubting either to be honest.

Absolutely hopeless this game.

Just had a quick conquest round, was first place all the way then got killed, couldn't be revived, wouldn't let me bleed out, stuck on overview of the map. Registered the mouse clicks only the timer got stuck and wouldn't move.

I give up, so close to uninstalling this and trying again in a few months.

Is this game not worth buying then? Was quite looking forward to a FPS. Reading the reviews about World War 3 suggests that's still very much in beta.

It's good but there are still far too many issues at the moment.

You're better off waiting a few more weeks till it's dropped in price even more and had a few more updates that (hopefully) sort the issues.

After this game i think Dice need to go back to the drawing board and figure out what they want their game to be. Right now we've got a game that thinks its a semi realistic tank simulator combined with totally arcade like infantry play, an attrition system nobody asked for (nothing more than Dice trying to force squad play) coupled with all these pointless animations for getting in\out of vehicles, reviving as medic, jumping out windows and rolling etc etc.

Are they trying to make it more realistic or only certain elements of it? Obviously some of these animations have a point to them but they just seem forced considering its something that only started sneaking into the game during BF1. Having a game mechanic such as revive tied to these imo is just stupid, you get forced into the same crouched animation making yourself a nice target whereas in previous games you could go prone and do the same job without the gimmicky animation.

Some of their new additions to the game have made certain things redundant like ammo crates and medic crates, barely anyone uses them and they just stick to the small pouches as infantry can't be bothered to go over to it and hit the button. Don't see what was wrong with the way it worked in previous games with crates having a radius it resupplied\healed from.

Sounds about the same as FO76 then. That's still a good game, but is still riddled with bugs, and seems Bethesda fix 1 thing and break 2 more.

It's slowly tanking in price, so will probs pick it up when it's sub £20.

Medic crates are largely redundant, but the ammo crates are not. You don't get explosives re-supplied by pouches. An ammo box turns an assault player into a formidable tank destroyer even if some of their shots are glancing blows.

Gotta say though, at least the on-board machine gun actually kills people now. The BF1 ones just used to fire marshmallows for me.
The top mounted MG is great fun. You're completely exposed but the field of fire and range of the gun is awesome. Well worth climbing out of the tank for a blast.

Not from what i've seen while playing, its rare to see an ammo crate at all. You get them occasionally but for the most part supports use the pouch, and this is purely down to dice changing the mechanic of how its used for no reason.

Players not using the ammo crates is the fault of the player, there is at least a compelling reason to use them. With the medic crates, the only advantage is that you can heal 3 or more players in one go (if they're intelligent enough to reach into the crate), without the awkward cool-down standoff where the player shoots at you because they think you're too stupid to throw them a pouch. Often though you'll find the crate is on cooldown when you need it though, so the medic pouch, with it's ability to be thrown and short cool down is much better.

When you're preparing to assault somewhere, you should always make sure you have full ammo to start with if you can, and you're probably going to want full health and a spare pouch as well. You're much more likely to need a refill of your spare medic pouch mid firefight than ammo (if you take 50 damage on your first encounter for instance, it should make you wary of your health situation, but using up a clip of ammo shouldn't make you worry about ammo), so I don't think there's much advantage to being able to throw ammo pouches especially as they don't have any big toys in them.

Going to be glad when this TOW assignment finishes. It's getting daft the amount of supply pods dropping out of the sky at the moment. Been splatted twice now! :D
