*** The Official Battlefield 5 thread***

980Ti @ 1080p on low and I'm getting between 75-144fps, on a GSYNC screen though so I don't notice the dips.

Enjoyed the alpha time I got - thanks again Tony.

Time to type up my feedback, there are a few key (imo) things they need to work on that could improve the gameplay experience, many of those revolve around the animations for absolutely everything.

Hopefully we get an open beta and see a different map and newer build of the game with the sliding mechanics added.

Hopefully the beta will be next month and have all the improvements, at least the main ones but going by past experience, don't be expecting much, if anything to change, certainly not core mechanics anyway :(

Games comes out on 19th October so open beta will probably be first week of October and same map, giving them no time to make any changes before the game releases if previous beta's are anything to go by.

Watching Shroud and Dr Disrespect playing last night on twitch had me in stitches. They've obviously been given a significant payout to help EA market the game to their followers as opposed to having the relatively unknown BF youtubers stream the match. It seemed obvious to be that they had been coached on tactics a little before going live, but that they aren't regular bf players and didn't quite get it. The constant spawn die, run out of ammo, squad wipe etc etc made it clear that being a good shot with good reactions does not make you a bf player. I suspect EA may have not helped their marketing campaign as I wonder how many of their followers would even consider the game based on seeing their heroes constantly smashed back to spawn. At several points I though Dr Disrespect was going to rage quit and then remembered he was being paid to play.

I'm going to miss the Alpha. I hope they rethink the level of visual distraction, lack of options for effectively communicating enemy positions to your team mates and the infuriating pauses which get you killed when performing actions like reviving. It seems very hard to get momentum going when it takes so long to pickup your squad mates and then everyone wants to retreat to get more ammo.

GTX980 @1080p 0n medium I am getting 60-70fps G-sync monitor as well, every round once or twice I will get a massive dip down to about 20-30fps but it is over very quickly so don't notice it too much I am hoping its just an optimisation thing due it being an Alpha.

Pre order of the game gets you advance access to open Beta apparently but not sure of when that will be yet.

Am pretty nervous about this now, I must admit. Enjoy is not exactly the word I would use for the Alpha for me. Clunky and slow and that damn wait while the bleed out counter goes down (why no space bar to cut it short?). Just didn't bite me.
Hopefully more maps and gameplay options will sort me out. :(

Got to say I hardly felt like playing for longer than a hour at a time. Gun play is fast and back to old but the gameplay is clunky and slow. Need more ammo as it is constant running to ammo dumps. Also reviving needs to be changed as it is far too long and will mean less people will do it which is bad enough with randoms as it is. Also dead corpses need some sort of indication to revive.

Game felt almost like BF1 which is no surprise given the eras being very similar. Vietnam would give enough of a difference while introducing new gameplay.

Biggest issue for me is the massively over done effects and the terrible visibility.

The best way i seen that described was its like a white noise filter is on the screen at 25% opacity.

It really was hard to see people at all, spotting people from planes was incredibly hard as well. This MIGHT be map specific but if its not it's possible that removing the old "dorito" spotting mechanic might have been the wrong thing to do.

Found that vid great, thanks for sharing

I thought the alpha ran loverly. 980ti with intel at 4.4 or something like that. Didn’t mind the snow much either. It made it harder to spot the enemy but it must’ve been harder to spot me too.

We hear what you say about the time it takes to respawn but that puts more onus on staying with your squad. Same as the low ammo, adds a new complexity to the whole game which I thought worked well.

All in n all pleased I got in on the alpha and bodes well come October

Haven't been following this as I don't enjoy bf1 but quite enjoyed bf3. 2 questions how will my pc run this going by the beta and where's the season pass, surely EA aren't doing away with dlc.
