I can’t see anything except a Haye win if he stays injury free. I much prefer Bellew but thought he got an absolute gift in the last fight. If Haye stays fit he should finish him within 8 rounds comfortably.
Sure Haye knew he was on borrowed time in the first fight, knew damn well that he was injured and the wild punches he threw in the early rounds were a man trying to end it early before his body failed. Even then he was still 4 rounds up on the judges cards before his Achilles went. Bellew then had 6 rounds trying to hurt a sitting duck and couldn't.
If (big if!) Haye is fit enough to go the 12 rounds he'll win. Needs to be stopping him if he genuinely wants a big heavyweight title fight though.
I wouldn't bet against him fighting Joshua in the not too distant future. All Joshua fights are big and make decent money but there are just 3 fights that have the potential to make mega money and they're Wilder, Fury and Haye. Given Haye's age and the unreliability of his body, I can't see Joshua/Hearn risking missing out on that fight by waiting too long, especially when there's little prospect of the Fury fight in the next 18 months, if at all given the way Fury's career has gone.
From Haye's point of view too, would you risk a fight with Whyte for 1/4 of the money you'd get vs Wilder and would you risk a fight with Wilder for 1/4 of the money you'd get vs Joshua? Haye's only got 1 loss left in him and has to take the biggest paying fight asap imo.
