God bless BT taking advantage of mugs to subsidise everyone else.

Dubois V Joyce on normal BT Sports Saturday night while they’re putting Tyson V Jones Jr fighting in a care home on Box Office!!!!

Awesome.

Life hack for anyone watching the Dubois fight, watch it via the BT website and play it a 2x speed. It'll make it appear as if they're fighting at normal speed rather than slow motion on TV.

Edit: Just read a bit more about the Tyson exhibition. No ringside judges, no winner, no knock outs allowed, a cut however small immediately ends the fight and 12 ounce gloves will be used. BT are charging for a sparring session!

I'm actually looking forward to Joyce vs Dubois. Yeah Joyce is slow as slow can be but Dubois just makes me think of Frank Bruno 2.0 but with none of the charm or personality.

Real 50:50 fight but I'm leaning with Joyce as he had a decent amateur career and has fought names. Dubois, other than Gorman, has been knocking out taxi drivers and doormen.

but with none of the charm or personality.

A lettuce has more charm and personality than both Joyce and Dubois combined. I just watched a head to head interview from them and it was painful to watch. Their trash talk amounted to "I'm going to punch you" vs "I'll punch you harder".

Why did you do that to yourself :p

You should've saved it for when your next bout of insomnia pops up. That would get anyone to sleep.

I think people become too fixated on personality sometimes. They both can fight and both come across as decent human beings. On the other hand Wilder has personality but he’s a complete tool.

I’m backing Joyce but it can go both ways, been looking forward to this fight for a long time.

We probably do but hype sells. Look at Chisora and Dave Allen, both have become far bigger names than their boxing ability has justified. Dave Allen had the personality that so many people loved and Chisora is/was a nutcase that would do anything to hype a fight*. I'm looking forward to the Joyce-Dubois fight but to anybody that's not a big boxing fan, are they really going to make any effort to tune in? You're right, they both do come across as decent people which makes the awful trash talk even worse because it's clearly put on.

*Sometimes watching IFLTV videos & interviews on youtube you get a bit more insight into the staging of some of this hype. We all know it's bs but it's interesting to hear them admit it. Sometime ago there was a video where Hearn is caught talking with Chisora and they were discussing the whole table incident and it turns out Hearn offered Chisora a bonus (a watch iirc) if ,as chief support, they hit a certain PPV target. And more recently before the Chisora/Usyk fight, Hearn was filmed almost bragging about the Haye rant prior to the first Bellew fight - Haye supposedly called Hearn after the press-conference to comment on how good a performance he put on.

Yeah most of the “trash talking” is nothing more than pantomime it’s a side show to what we actually want to see... The fight. Some people can do it some can’t.

What we have here is a really interesting fight, a 50/50. If people want a pantomime then wait for the next Logan vs Paul YouTube crap.

I'll be watching it but I'm expecting nothing more than a decent fight between two average boxers who'll probably have career highs if they win a Lonsdale belt.

Edit: Now they're saying KOs will be allowed in the Tyson fight as well as a winner if it goes the distance. Now I'm interested again.

I really like Daniel Jacobs but that was a really poor performance last night. I think he actually lost it so I'm surprised he got a split decision.

Suspect if this goes 12 rounds we'll have all fallen asleep cos I can't see it being a thriller if it does!

Not really seen either of these 2 in deep water so no idea how this will go.
