But Ortiz has been beaten by both Wilder and Ruiz Jr so poses no real threat to Fury. He’s old and it’s time to move on.Chisora was a bit lucky to get that nod over Pulev. I'm glad he did but if he lost that he would've had 14 losses on his record. I don't think Ortiz losing to Ruiz Jr is any worse.
Are we really going to use a profile argument to defend Fury? What profile did Schwartz, Pienetta or Wallin have before Fury picked them from obscurity?
Chiarosa doesn't pose as much of a threat as Sanchez or Hunter do and if you genuinely believe that he does then I'd love to have some of the stuff you're smoking. Don't get me wrong. I love Chisora and I'm glad he is getting a payday but there is no way to defend this match other than a mate giving his mate a payday.
I don't think it's entitled to expect a fighter who claims 'there's not a man born from his mother' that can beat him. If you want to have that energy then you need to back it up with credible opposition. He's a champion, he should be fighting live opposition. It's a shame Joyce isn't in the WBC rankings but there are some still credible opponents he could've took.
Profile is a factor. Risk vs reward is a thing. If the next fight wasn’t going to be Usyk then I’d understand but ultimately Fury’s going to take a fight that has as much credibility but poses the least amount of risk that he can. Neither Sanchez or Hunter is going to beat Fury. Sanchez maybe something at some point but Hunter had a chance to roll the dice with Hrgovic, he backed out.
Look you’ve got to be realistic. His only goal should be focusing on Usyk because that’s a proper fight. This is a tick over fight and Chisora is guaranteed to bring it for the fans and Fury is guaranteed to win it for the undisputed fight to still take place.
Fury’s looking to cash out now. It’ll be Usyk and if he wins Aj and then that’s it would my prediction.
