I do remember saying tonight, that a Benn win would set up a trilogy fight with even more money on the cards.
But... with the history between them (mainly their dads) i doubt it was faked, but you never know, its a nice payday for both fighters.

hes not fighting chris ever again. he didnt even want to fight him a 2nd time. his first goal has always been to win a world title. which this has set up. saudis wont back a 3rd fight either. so hes moving down to his natural weight and he will go spank some yanks for world titles. hes just boxed chrises head off at two weight divisions above his weight and hes a top 3 ranked world person. you think he wont do that at his own weight ? he will easy.
 
Was not as entertaining as the last fight to be honest Eubank never got going, they both don't sound fussed about another fight but maybe that was part of the plan to say that. If you get what I'm saying. " money talks "
 
Benn said in the interview with Carl Foch that there won’t be a 3rd his next fight after this is at 147, so let’s see.

So I was seeing reactions and most people saying Eubank is spent, needs to retire, lost it etc. my question is why do they think that? Just because of how he lost? 6 months ago was getting plaudits etc

Nope.

Eubank Jr took a too big a cut with the weight cut.

I don't want to use a cliché re "father time". You literally can't do that when looking at 40 years old.

If Eubank Jr wants to further his boxing career, he will.
 
Eubank got away with the silly weight cut the first time, I can understand him going to the well again as he ain't ever getting this sort of money fighting on his boxing merits, living off his old mans name and feuds is all he has.

He could try one more fight at his proper weight to see if there's anything still there but does he really want to do the build up work required to get back to title contention? I don't think at 36 he's got the desire.
