Part of me thinks it still won’t happen and it was just a huge ploy. But if it does and it goes past 2 rounds (at most) everyone will know it’s scripted. Everyone knows AJ should floor him within 30-60 seconds at most.
 
I'll watch the hightlights. No way am I waking up for this.

And if the highlights are somehow longer than the Ngannou ones then it'll be fishy lol.

It's a proper professional bout and not a exhibition, right? So if the rig is in, there could be a lot of legal consequences.

I dont hold out any hope of legal consequenses, apparently you can even dope now and blame it all on eggs.

The World Boxing Council (WBC) cleared Benn of intentional doping, citing "highly elevated consumption of eggs" as a possible reasonable explanation for the adverse finding.

I don't think it's scripted, I just don't think Hearn would go there also don't think it's AJ's nature.

If you look at AJ - he's training with Team Usyk, he wants another go at a title fight or a fight with Fury - so it looks to me like he's taking his boxing very seriously still.

This is technically easy money for him, my prediction is round 4 AJ KO. (maybe round 3)

The only way I see Jake having a chance, is clinching, head-clashing, causing an injury or making it so awkward and weird that it's not a proper fight.

But we'll find out in around 12 hours.... I guess I'm not the only heretic who's setting his alarm...... :/
 
Estimated £50 million each, so taking it seriously or not - does Joshua care? I don't know.

Two parts to it for me....

I hope Jake becomes an internet meme and gets brutally KO'd by Joshua...

OR

Joshua fails to KO him, we end up with a terrible "fight" and Joshua still comes out at the end and decides he's still going to be a world champion again.....

It's kind of sad that the casual fan enjoys this type of fight over a proper fight these days but I guess that's where the money is at.

I'm out with my mates on Saturday so I'll probably get home late and stay up for it....
 
I'm ashamed to say I will be watching...

I don't think many people know or perhaps care but circus fights killed MMA in Japan seen as early as the mid 70s with Ali vs Inoki but much more prominently at the start of the 21st century... people stopped watching and caring. It's a worrying time for boxing.

His best chance i feel is to try and catch AJ with an awkward temple shot that messes up his equilibrium or wobbles him, leaving a small window of chance to try and put on a big flurry and hope the Ref jumps in.

But i think the reality is more likely an 8 round sparring session with gargantuan overpay for both. And at the end they will be all hugs and kissing about how far Paul has come as a boxer.

I fully get why AJ took the fight and in his position I'd do the same

Just as a fan of the sport with no monetary benefit from the event, I don't care enough to wake up early for it. It'll be like 4am right?

Whilst others I could see that happening... I honestly think AJ / Hearn aren't there for the hugs/kisses at the end. I think they are there to make a proper fight and I just hope AJ isn't "gun shy" when it comes to the fight

Can't see it tbh,

That stiff disgusting long pumping jab that AJ throws, as soon as Paul feels that he'll break down, never never stepped in the ring with anyone even close to AJ.
 
Here's my prediction, the story of the fight will be planned in advance, so that neither "boxer" loses, so what will happen is that Paul will manufacture a cut (in the same way that some WWE wrestlers create cuts) and the fight will end due to the cut, that way AJ can be seen to have fought "properly" and Paul can walk away saying that AJ didnt "beat" him.

You do know its tonight on the east coast so ring walk 3:30 am early Saturday morning NOT Sunday morning
