**** The Official Chinese Phones Thread ****

What confusion?, gold version is released in the UK at the end of the month (any delay in shipping after that are due to preorders taking the stock). Grey is due later in August due to the initial batches going to European resellers being gold only ... At least that's the word from ZTE on Twitter ....

Any interest in ZTE Axon 7? Not available yet but doesn't look bad? I know nothing of ZTE.

Ohhhh yes.

I would love to get one, but at the moment my Letv Le1s still just goes about business without any issues, so.im struggling to justify the outlay of it.

Will wait tonsee how people get on with it and more reviews come out

It is just my personal opinion, but I do not like that 'grill' effect, above and below the screen on the ZTE Axon 7.

To me they just completely spoil the appearance of what is otherwise a very well 'speced' phone.

I was referring to their visual appearance, rather than to their actual function, and am sure they are excellent speakers, nevertheless!

Aye well I was reading on the axon 7 xda forum that they were going to release in UK end of the year. Since read on Twitter what you have.

We all asked the same thing before. i have spain set to mine. Others have different locations. No one really knows what it is for. So just pick one.

Like 'The_blue', I would have expected to see the UK as a selectable option!

There are apparently a variety of ROM's available for this particular phone, some of which are 'official'; some require it to be rooted, whilst others do not.

This is just one 'feature' which rather put me off buying one of those phones, although I accept that to a lot of folk, it will not matter at all, and may possibly even add to the 'fun' of configuring it in the first place! :)

If your on MIUI 7 I think they have stopped updating that as MIUI 8 is already out and should be available to everyone by the end of August

Still depends on the individuals phone as to whether its Android 6 or not. Someone may correct me, but I don't think any of the newer Xiaomi phones have had their Android version upgraded so far. They release newer models so quickly it probably makes little sense to invest any support beyond MIUI upgrades.
