The Official 'Countdown to Wii' Thread!

Well, I'm still hoping my retailer holds true. I'm missing out on midnight launch by one place in the preorder queue.

I have been told however they are expecting more units thurs/fri, so i may still get one for launch day!

*crosses fingers*

1 Red Steel £39.99 £39.99
1 The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess £39.99 £39.99
1 Nintendo Wii Console £179.99 £179.99

thats what my pre order shows. i should be getting Wii sports aswell right?

oh and its already being delivered! POW

awesome and one last question, i know the component cable is delayed (poo) but controllers and stuff are all going to be available right?

me and my bro will be wiing on wii sports, i then kick him off and play zelda till pass out from amazement

I wouldnt bank on the controllers being freely available theres reports of shortages of all the accessories.

You might have more luck looking for wii play though as thats got a controller bundled with it.

Just pre-ordered 9 Wii classic controllers and 9 Wii Nunchucks

Aren't you cool?

I've gotta say it, in my opinion you're an ass for doing this to people that want to buy the things at realistic prices at launch, and at christmas too. Open a bloody shop if you want to do that! :/

 If I want to buy somthing then sell it on to SOMEONE who NEEDS to buy it at an INFLATED price then who is the real fool, me or them.

I sold a 360 for double face value I was selling XBox 360 VGA cables for £55 and they where only £20 to buy.

Dog eat dog world, sonny boy.

If i had the cash to do it, id probably do the same.

Its not like hes stealing food off orphans or anything, these people are just too crazy to wait until it comes back into normal stock and so pay the inflated price.

Got to agree, yes maybe he thinks he is only taking money off those too stupid to wait but at this time of year I bet a large amount of those paying over the odds prices are those that are trying to source these items for their kids presents.

Not a case of stupidity, just parents trying to make their kids happy at Christmas and being forced into paying through the nose for it. :(

At Christmas it is a little different. Parents will do a lot to make sure their kids are happy on the day. If it was any other time of year it would be fine because idiots will pay the money but at Christmas it is almost like they are being forced to pay heavly inflated prices.

EDIT: Post above wasn't there when I started typing.

I'm a Parent and I got a pre-order release day 360 and it appears a pre order release day Wii.
I ordered 2 months ago, it cost me nothing, only 3 minutes of my time.

I bought them with the intention of keeping them, not to make money. However I can wait till after Xmas for one if someone is going to offer me £150 more than I paid for it.

I have no sympathy for people who whine that they "have" to pay inflated prices because they cba to pre-order and they "must" have one for Xmas for their kids.

No-one "has" to have a Wii and if the parents really wanted to get one they would have pre-ordered months ago like I did. My daughter can and will go without one for an extra whole 28 days and be happy with her other presents, I fail to see why other children can't or why a good Xmas and a good parent = getting the latest toy to give to their kids on 25th December. A little perspective is missing.

Some people have no intention of paying over the odds, people buying up stacks of them just stop people who want them being able to get hold of one at all.

Why post that you're doing it on a forum, it's not clever, no one is impressed and will only antagonise people because it's annoying.

apparently the place i ordered from people are getting calls to say that their Wii will be delivered Friday, the thing is i ordered on the 20th October the day the site went Live and have recieved no calls, nothing, (although i did ring and was confirmed over the phone that it would be but the person didn't sound to convincing) yet people who have ordered as late as the 21st November have received their calls. If don't get mine Friday/Monday all hell is gonna break loose this end as its for my 2 kids xmas present and the site in question clearly stated pre-order now for delivery on the 8th! and they took the money on the 20th and apparently it can take 3 weeks for a chargeback meaning i will not have the cash to go out and buy another till they do and missing xmas altogether!

So it seems not all people who pre-ordered early are getting them and it just seems its a postcode lottery.

ATM i'm just playing the waiting game but these things shouldn't be like this IMO

I preordered ages ago, like a few others on here, only to be told that we aren't getting one despite the fact that we were told we would. So it's not as simple as just ordering early enough.

At least some lorry driver will be making a ton of cash this christmas

I disagree.
Stores should limit one per household/customer on pre orders.
People buying up stacks have an identical opportunity to purchase as any one else.
The only thing stopping people getting in an early pre-order is themselves, this shortage is not a suprise at all, nor is the profiteering.

That is very unfortunate. If someone wants to offer me enough cash for me to buy 2 after Xmas then they clearly want it a lot more than I do and can have it at that kind of money. Maybe I simply have more patience.

well i preordered as soon as i heard you were able to.

Got a call yesterday, definately getting the console but so far that is all i am getting. My preorder for any/all games and accessories didn't make it :(
