The Official 'Countdown to Wii' Thread!

My Brother's in a queue with his 2 kids, reserving me a space... I'll turn up at 8, queue in the warmth with coffee and donuts until midnight..

[weak excuse] I have to have one for my daughter, she won't love me otherwise, I know she's only 2, but I have no choice, it's not for me, honest [/weak excuse]
 
My zelda and my points are being picked but i received this this morning

Recently we sent you an email confirming that you would be receiving order xxxxxxx for release date on Friday 08/12/06.

This date was based on delivery of all of our launch stock arriving in time for us to pick, pack and despatch to you. This is a precautionary email as we are still awaiting part of our allocation from Nintendo to arrive and subsequently, we won’t be able to ship your order in time for Friday. We can assure you that a console will be with you within the week and you should not be concerned if it is a Christmas gift. We will continue to communicate with you regularly about availability over the next 72 hours.

Our sincere apologies for this situation, please accept this £10 off e-voucher for your next order, we understand this doesn’t come close to the joy of receiving a new console but hope it will go some way to ease the inconvenience caused from this delay.

You people have me worried now, even though I had a call from 'major high street gaming store' on Monday night that my Wii was guaranteed for Friday :confused:

They aren't opening until 7am but if there's a possibility of low stock then maybe I need to be there early and not be the poor sap who gets his console sold to somebody else :(
 
The consoles that pre-ordered are being kept till Saturday afternoon, the being sold. This was according to the high street retailer with the purple background in their logo. I am going along and be queing at around 4 ish for the 7 opening, like I did for the 360 last year.

Mine is at the same point as yours. Its more than likely down to the fact that they are currently very busy and not had a chance to update the system.

I got gears of war from them and I never got my conformation email that it had been dispatched until it had arrived and been played to death for a good few hours.

The store with a giraffe local to me is opening its doors at 8:30am, they have 50 that are already sold but guarenteed me they have more to sell on a first come first served basis..........I'll start queueing at 3am.............hope theres nobody there :p
 
Man the admins going to be dishing more [Competitor] badges out I see. I went to my local 24 hour supermarket. Anyway I ask the lady at the electrical counter and she said they wouldn't be having any Nintendo Wiis in on friday and that super market is huge so I was suprised. Well I am trying for you guys that haven't preordered. :D

It's a good job I preordered mine even if I won't be getting it on the 8th. :mad:

I preordered one at the local store in town, i am 19th on the list... is there any reason i should go for the midnight opening (apart from getting it early?).

hehe, yeh, its the first time I've done anything like this, but it IS for my son (even though I'll probably play it more than him :p ) so its worth it..............just hope I get one or I will be annoyed!
 
I don't understand why anyone would feel funny buying a game console. I'm 27 and I'll be carrying my Wiimote around as a status symbol. I'm sure that will realy impress the ladies. :D

On a side note, has anyone who ordered a classic controller getting it delivered? Are they in super short supply?

Had mine on pre-order for a good while. It wasn't dispatched today so I'll be using the good old wavebird! :)
