Right for gaming...
Been ****ing about with Elite and Titan Fall and it's pretty damn good!

The screen size is great... although i can't help but wish I had a little bit more... (I've used triple displays for ages).

I'm not too sure If I am being just too picky about this screen but I suppose for the money you have to be.

With regards to scaling... I tried both windows 7 and 10 and it's actually fine... no problems what so ever.

Some of the older movies don't do full screen as you can see from the picture.

Sin City for example didn't fill the screen (provided black left and right bars)... but Jack The Giant killer as has no issues.

I suppose the reason why I bought the Dell rather than the LG unit is due to Dell Customer Support and Exchange service. I decided to get 5 year extended warranty with this one. Just in case things go AWOL in later years...

Also I suppose if I don't like the screen at least i know I won't have an issue returning it.

Was that sub £800 with the 5 year warranty? I think I still get a 10% discount from Dell.

Well my rep forwarded the email to her supervisor which replied back to say no.

Dell says backlight bleed is not acceptable as a defect and not covered by warranty so..

DSR would be the only option, only thing my understanding of DSR is you can't use the item, only look at it so you can't say "please exchange, it's got bleed". I'd have to get a refund and then haggle again.

I've not had to read the regs for a while, but the last time I did it said you get to inspect the item at home as you would be able to in a show room.
The item you return has to be in re-sellable condition with all packaging etc. So if you take the monitor out of the box and turn it on you can inspect it. If you don't like the smell of the stand you can pack it back away and return it for a full refund as long as you contact the shop within 7 days of the delivery.
