Got a reply back from Dell today getting a full refund on the stylus an said I can keep it nice so no problem ordering a stylus same time as the tablet if its fixed good but unlikely or if its still junk you get it for free.
You will pay £10 extra postage ordering stylus by its self later on.

Recieved my Poetic SlimBook Case from the rainforest market place took 2 weeks from the USA worth the £19 very nice perect fit can access all the buttons an still use the touch screen as normal you do hit the edges of the case sometimes when swiping though.

Placed my order yesterday, predicted delivery is the 15th. Way longer than I wanted it to be:( Quite disappointed seeing as delivery wasn't cheap. Nevertheless, looking forward to receiving the tablet, it's replacing my already sold laptop. Was considering a Nexus 7, but full Windows is more useful; I need to flash boot.img files to my One X

I absolutely love mine, don't think I've turned my computer on in the last 2 weeks other than to burn a music CD for the car. This thing does everything I need it to do, and the battery life is stunning for what it is - easily a full day of usage with quite a bit of streaming video from Netflix.

I cancelled my order for a stylus after reading about the problems people have had. I also don't think I'd benefit from having a stylus so that was an easy decision - I do however need a case so may opt for the Dell one if the Poetic cases don't get back into stock soon.

I ordered the IVSO case on Amazon and it's a nice case. The Venue fits well and it does not bulk it up too much. I cannot get the smart wakeup to work but not too bothered about that. It adds protection without making everything huge and the cover folds into a stand which works better than expected.

Overall a very good case.

How do people find the stupid button position on the side of the tablet instead of the front as with 99.9% of other tablets out there? Is it something you get used to? This is the only thing putting me off one.

Never use it, quick swipe in from the right to get charms and tap start is how I get to start screen. My thumb is there anyway.

Why is it stupid? Its far more sensiable, Its easily accesable, unlike the usual button placment, which is the stupid one. Middle of a tablet thats held in landscape, furthest away from a thumb as you can get.

It could take hours to reach that button, so far away...

They put the button on the front for consistency, buttons to the side will have to go along other controls and input/outputs which vary.

I personally don't see either arrangement as being an issue.

I nearly always use the tablet horizontal so it's in the perfect position for me but tbh as mentioned I hardly use it just swipe from the left.

Its not about how long, its about how easy. Button on the side is easy to reach you dont have to move your hands. Button in th mddle on 10" + especially 16x9 you simply cant reach said button without removing hand, button on the side is erfect. It should be on the right hand side, then if your a left hand user, you can just rotate the entire tablet, to get it on the left.

Ipad used landscape with button on right hand side is perfection for home button placment. But with it being used portraite which many do, its in the wrong place.

Rather tempted to get one of these 64Gb to potentially replace my nexus 7 2013.
Though one of the things I like about my nexus 7 is that it really does fit into a trouser pocket and jacket pockets. I'm not sure the larger size of the venue 8 pro would let me do that.

Get bigger trousers :)

Tbh on the Win tablets the windows button is a vestigal function for slow people or iPad users, in a month I think I've only pressed it by accident twice and never intentionally, as mentioned above the swipe gesture is far easier and right where your thumb is regardless of orientation.

Its capacitive too on the V11 so I'd disable it if I could.
