What class are people using, and why? Intersting to get peoples take on the different classes.

I'm not sure about that, not many MMO type games allow you to do that so I'd be surprised if they do.

I've not tried the Beta yet but will be home this afternoon so look forward to it, I read the cap was 20 unless you mean the full game.

I'm going for Warlock, I had decided to play that even before playing the alpha but after playing all classes I'm going to stick with it.

With the warlock you have to be super aggressive or really defensive, it's not a middle class really.

Having said that all the classes were good, not really an OP class that you usually get in MMO's so just go with what you like.
 
I still have this feeling, with this game in particular, that its just a masssively different experience when played in a group with voice chat. Its like the gaming equivalent of a soap that gets people on the sofa - its much more than just what you are watching/doing that makes the experience...

Well my guess would be that they'll wipe everything, the guy from Bungie did say though they're still thinking about it. Either way I'm happy, no issues starting over at all. Level cap appears to be 8 as mentioned a few posts back, was hoping it would be a bit higher for the beta.

It's definitely a much better experience when you're in a fireteam with comms, I did story missions 1-4 on my own then went exploring with a fireteam of two mates with mics and then to top the night off we did a strike mission and I enjoyed myself a lot more in the fireteam.
 
Goodness, the content install is only approximately 12GB and has been running for half an hour already and is only around 15% complete... talk about snails pace!
 
got this downloaded last night but had no chance to play it..
can anyone tell me, if there is a sort of heavy class which uses huge heavy weapons, machine guns etc
or can any class in the game use those type of guns?

You have three different weapon classes for your character. Primary, secondary and heavy. The heavy class uses LMGs, Rocket launchers etc...
 
So seems a lot of mixed views on this Beta. :eek:

Personally I loved it, especially when you were fighting against higher level knights etc, I was playing with my own fire team (two other mates).

Team work and mics are 'essential' in this game, made it ten times more enjoyable.
We tore into the Strike mission and worked well together and had sooooo many laughs.
 
If I didn't have a fire team I don't think I'd bother playing it. The social aspect adds a lot to the game, plus it can be rather hard at times!
 
Yeah I wouldnt play this on my own - it feels like a poor MMO grind once you get past the initial wow. Thing is will Destiny still be a thing once the big MP hitters turn up? I dont see any reason why it wont but one thing I have noticed as a console gamer is that MP experiences are becoming so disposable, very few titles have mindshare months down the line...

Understand your worry mate, I fear the same, but Bungie did say they have a ten year plan for this game, I trust them :) lol

Really enjoying this so far, perhaps I'm still at the 'wow' ps3udo referred to, played solo so far.
