*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Yes there is.

US digial store quotes prices wihtout tax as some states have no sales tax at all, while some do.

You are comparing prices in UK with tax to US prices without tax. If you live in Alabama you'll pay 11 % more than the quoted xbox market price of $40 when it hits your credit card. However Montana has no sales tax at all meaning they pay exactly the quoted $40.

But that's not sony's or microsoft's fault.

I should have stated, after tax.
Am aware ours are displayed with tax on them, but the Activision prices are still comically high. It's not just tax, it's an arsey "those idiots will still pay it" attitude.
Saying that, they're in it to make money, so if people are going to pay it. Why would they ever change?

Even so Frodders, that's still only £34.99 with our tax added on and a "handling" overhead.

edit: beaten.. stepchild.. ginger..

For someone planning on buying the Legendary Edition when it comes out, is there a way to get the existing content early? I would like to play DB and HoW now so I'm ready for TTK when it comes out.

Sorry but theres no way i'm paying £40 for an expansion pack. For that sort of price I'd expect a full new game.

I've enjoyed Destiny but if bungie think they can screw us over like this and get away with it they've got another thing coming.

vote with your wallets peeps - they'll soon drop the price when they see nobody is interested in pre-orders and sales ain't taking off.

A gjally would be a good week seen as I'm only one on destiny who hasn't got one :p

Nope you aren't the only one mate, I've been trying to desperately get a gally myself but no such luck :( sucks as I think Destiny really does not like me very much lol.

Feel exactly the same way mate. I've enjoyed my time with Destiny, and met some great lads along the way. But the way bungie have conducted themselves this week, and the £40.00.price tag, means do one bungie

Hi all.

Do any of you know how to link a Post game Carnage Report to a post. Its for Help on the Bungie forums. Trying to get an answer there is impossible .

If you go onto Bungie website, then log-in and find the 'Legend' it will show you your most recent game history on the right hand side. If you click on that somewhere in the middle at the top there's a Permalink button, and it gives you something like:

£33.33 =! $40 though sadly

Taxes arent the unknown here at question, need to think of purchasing power and cost of living differences.

ps3ud0

point taken that even accounting for tax differences, we're still getting ripped off. Was just responding to the point that they should be the same.

Not to mention the developers of Dying Light are offering free content to people who tweet pictures of themselves drinking water, an obvious dig at the Red Bull promotion Bungie are running in the US.

this really has blown up in bungie's face when other developers start to openly mock them over their pricing.

Even so Frodders, that's still only £34.99 with our tax added on and a "handling" overhead.

£40 ex VAT is £33.33. Their price works out at £25 before tax. we definitely get a raw deal. Even worse when you consider some states don't pay sales tax

On another note I did well from Xur this week.

Bought the new titan boots with a monster roll of 152 intellect and liquidated my entire stock of coins, mots of light, shards and energies to buy about 7 engrams and got both the Ram and Celestial Nighthawk.

Well pleased.

Yeah I got the Ram too, it looks so great and also suits my PvP playstyle on warlock perfectly! Looking forward to playing with it when it's fully levelled.

Have bungie said whats included in Taken King?
Is it like just previous ones (a couple of strikes and a new raid if we're lucky)?

Well 3 new subclasses, two new pvp modes, 4-6 new pvp maps, 4 strikes and a raid.

Hardly worth the £40 pricetag, like a 1/3 of Vanilla and costs the same it's pretty stupid. If nothing else is added, i'll be giving TTK a miss i think.
