So it's pretty obvious that many people are lusting after the Dodo case for iPad, so hopefully we can pool together and order our cases on a single invoice and avoid the excessive shipping charges. I've emailed them regarding multibuy discount, so post here if you are interested in purchasing and we can either a) go in 1 big order or b) split it between smaller orders and keep the numbers down.

I'm happy to take PayPal, or perhaps a kind mod could take payment (if people don't trust me) but we need to work out where the cases would get shipped.

Again, this is more a "who wants in" thread, so these details will be ever-changing.


Pricing

The shipping costs come to..

1 case = $49.95 + $25 shipping = $74.95 = £50.72 each
2 cases = $99.90 + $25 shipping = $124.90 = £84.54 = £42.27 each
3 cases = $149.85 + $35 shipping = $184.85 = £125.07 = £41.69 each
4 cases = $199.80 + $35 shipping = $234.80 = £158.76 = £39.69 each
5 cases = $249.75 + $35 shipping = $284.75 = £192.71 = £38.54 each
6 cases = $299.70 + $35 shipping = $334.70 = £226.53 = £37.75 each

You physically can't order more than 6 cases on a single order with international shipping.

What's the best way to distribute the cases then? Send to me and I forward them out recorded delivery??

The size of this parcel will be quite big and will attract the attention of the customs officer no doubt. So we need to work out how much that is too and share that evenly, and then add postage within the UK on top.

Yeah, that's why I said we might have to break the order in to multiple deliveries (if the interest is high).

3x packages of 5 cases wouldn't be too bad.
 
I'm waiting to hear back what deal they can do on international shipping.

You're welcome to order on your own, but it'd cost $79.95 :(
 
As soon as really, I'm only waiting for the guy at DODOcase to reply to my email.

Call Apple and they can usually cancel an item before it ships.

I've fired another email off to DODOcase, but I dare say the time difference is working against me. Doing some fake ordering the shipping costs come to..

Yeah, they didn't give a discount on the bulk buying (as the quote I posted at the start of the thread shows = what you also posted), but he did say he'd work out a shipping discount. Might just be worth ploughing ahead..

If you are prepared to order I'd be willing to pay you directly.

Well, it's looking pretty likely that we're going to have to order in batches of 6.

tsinc has offered to place the first order of 6, providing we pay him the £42.56 up front.

How we decide to forward the 6 cases then from tsinc is yet to be determined. I suppose he could post the 5 cases (he'd keep 1 himself) to someone, then they take 1 and forward the 4... etc... etc...

Unless he wants to forward the 6 cases out, but I imagine even with the cheapest postage that'd be ££, and I don't want to burden him.

(Or I could do it)
 
Sorry I've been AWOL guys, had to go on a site visit yesterday and didn't get back till late.

I can send payment on Friday if needed :)

I thought I'd post an update to clear this up :(

My plan was to get an iPad through a friend who was visiting the states last week. Due to demand he was unable to pick up the model I wanted, so I've had to cancel my plans. I didn't preorder with Apple UK so I'm going to wait until my brother visits the US in June to pick one up then.

Apologies to tsinc80697 and those involved in this thread.
 
He's going end of June (26th) for 1 week.

Maybe, but at least the exchange rate should be better :p
 
Have some respect, these children probably have no choice but to work the long hours.
 
That case looks like it was physically abused on the journey from the US.

I'd straighten the front cover but that warped wood will take some mending. Gutted! :(
