*** The Official E3 2015 Thread ***

Cheers for that :) .. I should have added in op it's was also just a general discussion about E3 , I'm the same as most on here looking forward to fallout 4

No prob, I'd suggest throwing it into the OP so that anyone entering the thread and is interested has a higher chance of seeing it :)

The first year I can honestly say I could not care any less if I tried.....

Every year loads of games are shown, hyped up to the hilt only for them to be just another game, often a let down from what was promised.

On paper it very much appears that Microsoft have the stronger software line up, certainly for this year but tbh it all looks very samey to me, shooters, driving etc same **** different skin.

It's probably just me getting old but I have come to realise that more often than not that 3rd party games are generally better than exclusives.

Show me Fallout 4 & Dark Souls 3 and then I will have something to look forward too.

I'd be shocked if Nintendo didn't show off more interesting games than Sony and Microsoft combined. The Wii U is still the only one I'd remotely consider buying to complement my PC, because it's the only one that offers something truly different. Waiting for that magic £100 price point though. :D

It really is a great little machine. I haven't played mine nearly as much as I should, but whenever I do I come away feeling really good. As you said too, it offers something completely different from the other platforms.

£100... dream on mate. But I agree that for PC gamers, the only console worth having alongside is the WiiU. Seems to me like PS4/XB1 are trying to compete with PC by trying to do the same things.

Anyhow first off... screw console wars (& PC master race). It's just as childish as the whole Nvidia vs AMD fanboyism in the GC section and I enjoy owning all 3 of last gens consoles. They each have great exclusives and each have their strengths. I want a reason to want each console, so far only WiiU has been the case and PS4 just missed out by not offering backwards compatibility.

TLDR: A very cynical outlook, expecting the worst. That way I can be surprised when something pleasant happens.

Nintendo:
Folks said that last year Nintendo was the best. I disagreed and thought it the worst of the bunch and the most disappointing. Though I heard the on-floor experience was good. I'm expecting this year to be just as bad, especially now that they've blown their big releases like Smash Bros, Splatoon and Monster Hunter. Going over previously announced games like Zelda and Star Fox alone won't help. Also expect zilch on the NX. The only thing that can save them are a lot of new reveals. I don't see any Nintendo games worth buying in the future right now.

Microsoft:
Halo 5 is expected, but I don't really care. They also mentioned Crackdown last year, but I never heard anything since. There were quite a few games from last year that I haven't heard from. I hope they do have new reveals though, since nothing interests me enough to get me to buy an XB1. Also, may they be damned if they release more lazy HD remakes and collections. That's no way to deal with lack of backwards compatibility, just make the games available as downloads instead, virtual console style. Or at least put some effort into them. Not sure what good things to expect really. New franchises?

Sony:
I'm looking expectantly at this E3 to give me a reason to buy a PS4. The gameplay of Bloodborne doesn't interest me and similarly to XB1, there were a lot of reveals last year that I haven't heard much since. Best case scenario, Capcom gets their head out of their arse and release Monster Hunter on a Sony system (or WiiU), but that's unlikely. That or they give us something better than that terrible PSNOW, I don't want to stream games. New reveals please and please try something different than what can be offered on PC or other consoles. Generic shooter/RPG won't do. PSVita successor? Not really needed, the tech of the Vita is good but it lacks good games. Persona 5 is one to watch.

PC:
Okay I know this is a console section, but I expect the AMD Fury to be there playing some of the new games and showing off its grunt. Perhaps some of the new games will come bundled with AMD R9 3XX series cards? Also looking forward to what Bethesda has up it's sleeve, I hope Dishonoured 2. Not sure what to expect out of exclusives. Maybe some stuff on the GW2 expansion and Overwatch? But they don't interest me.

General:
Star Wars Battlefront, how will EA revive hope for that game?
MGS5, I just hope they reveal a physical edition for PC, lack of it upsets me the most.
Assassin's Creed can die, it's been milked to death.
New Splinter Cell game? Blacklist was good.
Bungie revealing a new game, better than Destiny?

Wildcard:
Microsoft go back to PC proper, making a guest appearance in the PC conference to reveal Halo coming back to PC
And no, I will not make jokes about a certain game expected from Valve.

Who will win?
...The newcomer.

Destiny's got at least 9 years left to run yet. :p

And Microsoft go back to PC? That's as good as them abandoning the Xbox.

I don't think they are trying to compete with PC as really it is the PC that is relying on the consoles for new games. The Witcher 3 for example wouldn't have happened if it was PC only as there just isn't enough money in it.

If they didn't give a stuff about PC you wouldn't be seeing DX support like you are getting.
Title IPS is a separate issue really.

Nah, that's more to do with a) not letting AMD or nVidia get a hold with their own APIs and b) future proofing Microsoft Surface just as Apple are doing with their own "Metal" APIs for iDevices.

Whats Surface got to do with any of the DX stuff?
And if it was left to AMD and nVid, it would be an utter split market mess.

You can't see MS Surface running DX12 graphics at some point in the future?

Besides, you hardly need DX12 graphics for the likes of League of Legends or DOTA which is 90% of the PC market looking at Twitch and Steam. :D

Yea down the line, still a bit off for the ownboard graphics though.

Its when DX still does offer up when your current rig a 30-40% boost, that a great bit of work.

Only reason we are seeing DX12 is MS were embarrassed when AMD demoed how archaic DX11 is with Mantle. Vulcan coming off of that forced their hand - they don't want a chance for some multi-platform/OS API to be preferred over DX.

Multi threading isn't a new requirement yet only now will DX properly support it.

ps3ud0

im hoping for something that is fresh and has a demo running which is actually from an xbox and not a pc lol

also hoping for some more games which hav e online coop story mode and not just play with your mates in a lobby really enjoyed dying light playing coop.

i just dont want to see loads and loads of remakes but now in glorious hd with enhanced features unless of course one of them is THE ORIGINAL MODERN WARFARE OR MW2

i would also like to see a return of a good boxing game like fight night.I would also like to see them make use of the kinnect and make a gun game like the old days, where you use a wireless gun ( played a great one in the arcade the other day it was aliens and was terrific fun) this would be immense in your living room and im suprised we have not already seen something like this .
