*** The Official E3 2015 Thread ***

Sony must have clearly been totally unprepared for E3 this time round, what happened to Morpheus?!

Can't see any strong exclusives except for Uncharted and potentially Horizon, which is a shame really as they've been forced into rooting up games that are well past their generation with FF7 and Shenmue.

Seems that in going after all these naff Indie games (PS Plus has become a joke lately!) they've forgotten to actually get a strong exclusive line up.

Looks like my PS4 is going to be gathering some dust over the coming months.

Uncharted 4 was the best demo of e3 for me!

That for honour looks promising also so will be keeping an eye on that, with a pinch of salt of course due to it being ubisoft

One thing I found strange was the appearance of no man's sky. Don't get me wrong it looks great and I can't wait to get my hands on it... But nothing really new was shown. And no release date or period revealed..

Uncharted looks completely awesome, it stole the show for me.

Also glad they're releasing the 20th Anniversary controller on its own, will definitely be getting one of those.

Just shush. They just delivered quite a few things people wanted, that's hardly "unprepared".

Half of Sony E3 booth is dedicated to Morpheus

Its seems theres a vocal minority that dont get what the game is about - having the developer (who is pretty publicly protective of NMS looking at a number of articles out there) play the game as if its just any gamer at least puts some at ease.

I dont understand the issue myself - the game speaks for itself - there was so much information out there considering the hype behind it

ps3ud0

One thing I dislike about these conferences is that whilst some people like Bethesda will announce a game like Fallout 4 and then you can get it in the same calendar year.

And there is something like Final Fantasy remake, or any kind of announcements of games that they have probably no more than 6 months into it, and still 3 years away.

And then there is games like The Last Guardian which was announced back in 2009(?) and then nothing and then after all that time, they have a last gen graphic looking demo and that's it. And it is still unfinished with no release date.

I wish they could all be like Bethesda, the last 2 is a waste of time. It is actually a disappointment to come back year after year showing another trailer that shows nothing more. Come back when you have the game ready to ship or with a release date on the calendar.

Another thing I have noticed - remake.

There seems to be this industry wide from gamers that they want a remake of an old classic to modern platform. Final Fantasy 7 is a prime example.

Whereas with movies, on the same level, some films should never be remade, ever. Like The Godfather.

I think sometimes we should take a leaf out of movies, leave the classics alone, don't ruin the memory.

Fallout 4 for the X1 (with the free downloadable content) stole the show for me, from a next gen perspective it easily stole the show, but I'm a fan. Backward compatibility for the 360 is a fantastic announcement.

I can see my 360 dedicated external HDD showing pictures of all my 360 games, the classics like Red Dead Redemption, Gears of War(multiplayer too), Skyrim even, and they will be enhanced somehow to top it off.

To say Sony stole the show is delusional.

Backwards compatibility is good but tbh more new games would be better. I had a PS3 and 360 for the best part of 10 years and would prefer to move on. Some great games were shown but I do feel this generation is taking far longer to let go of the last generation. Far too many remakes to try and fill the lack of new games.

With films though, there is a lot to be said for plot and script, which pretty much can't be improved with advances in technology. Games are completely differently.

There's a lot of 360 games I missed, and just knowing that I can play from a library on my next gen system is fantastic. Completely positive move for everyone imo.

This gen is taking a long time to get going I completely agree, but at least X1 owners have a choice to play a classic 360 game anytime is just all good.

I think backwards compatibility is a strange move. The Xbox One in my opinion did a lot to be about forward momentum; new franchises, new technology and new services so allowing games from the previous console to work feels like a backwards step. Especially given the 'remakes' that are coming out. Look! New old games everyone... but here are the old games too.

On the other hand, allowing people to play games they already own and missed out on is a good move.

The main thing is that Microsoft aren't going to charge you to play your old games ;).

Personally; If I want to play PlayStation 3 games or Xbox 360 games I'll just play them on the old console (retro gaming yo :p) and even if I did not own the old consoles, they are not expensive. However I understand why people would be pleased about this, but it does not appeal to me.

As the proud owner of neither an xbone or ps4 i'd say the complete opposite, after watching the conferences i'd consider a PS4, but short of maybe Halo 5 (which is probably for nostalgias sake,) as frankly as a fps halo 4 was passable at best, there is very little of interest bar maybe recore on the xbox.
Multi-plats are not a consideration for me as my pc will run them better, so in terms of exclusives PS4 was confortably the better of the two.

I'm actually pleased they didn't dedicate all the time to Morpheus, there will be a time and place for it but as it needs the headset I think you need to experience it it and may not have come across as planned to people watching in 2D youtube.

I hope to try it at the Eurogamer show this year, it's the only way I'll get a good idea how it performs.

Whats wrong with your "free" version?

Well my 'Free' version's were terrible, I went through 6 on release as they kept breaking within minutes of use. I ended up buying the Titanfall version which was much better build quality and still working fine.

But I know what you mean, I use control freaks when playing FPS games and I like the idea of being able to switch out the sticks to suit. That coupled with the Dpad disc and the triggers underneath for better jumping/looking.
