Fallout 4 & Dark Souls 3 are all that matter. Can't believe they would even think about releasing Tomb Raider on the same day as Fallout 4, commercial suicide.
 
I'm not so sure about that - and have no evidence to back it up - but people love a bit of Tomb Raider. The 2013 re-boot sold an awful lot of copies. Personally, I'd have to have both, though not necessarily on the same day.

I had the same thought. TBH releasing Tomb Raider during the Christmas rush seems a bit daft. It's the sort of game that would do really well released in Q2, well away from other big releases. This Christmas is far too packed for Xbox One owners - I can see a lot of games falling by the wayside and ending up in the bargain bin.

That's a big list, and not necessarily definitive. Realistically, very few people will buy more than half of those at release. A few of them are bound to tank.

And therein lies the issue; by the time the people who buy Fallout are ready for Tomb Raider, it'll be selling for £25 instead of £40+. The launch-period sales are absolutely critical these days, which is why they want people pre-ordering.

Personally I think I'd get Tomb Raider first then Fallout, because there's no denying that Fallout will be packed with bugs for the first few weeks at least. That said, I don't have the required equipment for TR anyway!
 
^Neither do I and I really can't see myself getting an XB1 any time soon so we'll just have to see how long the timed exclusive period lasts. Fallout 4 it is then!
 
I think I'm the only person in the world who didn't get on with Fallout, not interested in 4 at all, Tomb Raider on other hand is an instant purchase

I think most have stopped caring. Nintendo lost the plot a few years ago. This year's E3 is just prime evidence of that. They've become a company of family-oriented party games and cheap gimmicks.

It's a shame, as I think a lot of us would like to play modern versions of many an N64/Gamecube classic, but the company simply isn't focused on that audience any more.

You're not the only one. I didn't stick with Fallout 3 for all that long, and didn't bother with New Vegas at all. While Tomb Raider looked great, I doubt I'll bother with either game at launch. Tomb Raider is a prime candidate for being heavily discounted quite quickly - I'd put money on it being £20-25 after Christmas.
 
I didn't like Fallout 3 or New Vegas either. I'm willing to give the new one a go but it'll be on rental or when they give it away in 5 years time on PS+ or something.
 
Just watched the 40 minute MGS Phantom Pain gameplay preview. Looks very cool, I just hope they haven't sacrificed story for the sake of it being open-world and having all manner of customisation options. The fact you can change what character you play as makes me wonder how any narrative is supposed to take place during gameplay.
