Yeah I can actually live with the griefers most of the time and do enjoy the interaction in open play, my problem with them doing it at the station is that you don't know who is an idiot and who is just a poor random feeling the need to boost out of the port to stay alive with all that going on.

I'm up for getting some people together and having a pop at some of the "YARRR" boys out there but as I said it will need to well co-ordinated as they can get a group of 8+ in an instance with in 30 seconds and from personal experience they strip even the best shields in seconds....

....I'm a pretty rubbish pilot as well and normally find myself doing more damage by crashing into my wingmen than i do to the enemy :D
 
I am looking for Cmdr Igoveor who pirates (badly) out of Altair in a Python. I think he maybe either a new pirate or fine/bounty paying scumbag. Anyone operating in that area and seeing him let me know please :)
 
I wouldn't mind getting a wing of pythons/FDLs together to hunt CODE players so they aren't sitting so comfortably.

Yesterday I was in combat against an Anaconda, with loads of security helping out, when BOOM! I know my shields and hull were fine. Just exploded without warning.
If you hit a ship, or a ship hits you, at sufficient velocity you will generally just go boom outright. IIRC, it won't say "you were killed by XYZ" either as they technically didn't fire on you.
Could you have crashed into one of the many security ships, perhaps?

Exactly, and this is why I don't want to retreat to Mobius. I feel we should stand and fight. We know how they do it, we can always bait them and have an insane 8vs8 battle in space! Some of us may not make it out with our ships intact, but by god they would feel it.
 
The Pagans only play in Open but don't get griefed due to us flying wings.

Seriously there are some right idiots in game just give the CMDR name and location so we can have some fun getting even.

I thought Ive upgraded my weapons/shields/power plant etc and decided to go after an anaconda.

Flying towards it face to face BOOM, shields down in one go and hull strength plunging....

ANy pointers folks?

Using Cobra and 4 Beam lasers (combination of Class 1 and 2..... reading that just now, Im thinking this is probably not enough?)

But then Cobra hardpoints are maxed at 2 for weapons, I thought Cobras and VIpers were the best in terms of DPS?
 
Face to face with an anaconda? There's your problem, boost in behind, be prepared to kite and use asteroids if you can. You can't go head to head with bigger ships.
 
Mulicannons I think are for hull and beams for shields at least that's what I picked from advice and utube load out vids. I set one fire group to the two beams and the others to group two and hopefully in fight u just switch when needed. Not flown it in combat yet but that was the idea.

I didn't see anyone else mention this although I may have missed it.

Once his shields are down target his power plant sub system. Destroy it and he explodes.
 
As above never go for hull take out his power plant and keep away from front, use smaller ships agility to stay on his rear that's where good thrusters come into play.

Cobra more than capable of taking on a NPC anaconda would switch to 2 Medium gimballed beams and 2 small gimballed machine guns though as you cannot run 4 lasers due to power/heat.
 
TBH, if going for 'conda's... 1 x Class 2 Beam laser for shields...
3 x MC for Power Plant would probably be quicker :)

For a more general build, I used to use 2 x Pulse Lasers (less heat, more uptime) and 2 x MC. MC always in the larger slot as Power Plant / Hull always takes longer than stripping the shields.
 
For conda's I hit drives before power plant now. The drives are weak and it leaves them floundering unable to move in space so you can position yourself much easier to finish them off. I found the power plant quite difficult to do when in a cobra.

Ditto. I tried the power plant a few times, and I must be a bit rubbish 'cos I kept getting walloped.
