*** The Official FIFA 13 Thread ***

Fifa scripting is really screwing me over tonight. 3 times I've equalised in the 90th minute to take cup games to extra time, 3 times I've conceded in the 118th minute to lose it. It's so obvious it's ridiculous.
 
Built a 4-2-3-1 BPL/Ligue 1 hybrid last night, with TOTS Valbuena, TOTS Matuidi and TOTS N'Koulou as the hub of the team. It lasted 3 games before ending up back on the trade pile. I seriously dislike the formation. The two CAMS are too wide, leaving the CF and ST feeling isolated. Matuidi felt really good to use though, I'll definitely consider him at some point again in the future, and he's fairly cheap for a TOTS player as well (120k).

Also selling TOTS Di Natale, TOTS Vidal, and SIF Marchisio. Di Natale is good, and scores some great goals, but NIF Miccoli out scores him so he's not worth the 650k over him. Vidal and Marchisio don't seem any different to their NIF cards, so again I might as well keep the 300k and do something else with it.

This is my formation of choice but yes, the CF and ST are isolated. I tried 4-3-3 but found it much harder to defend with.
Does anyone have experience/thoughts on 4-2-2-2. I like the look of 2 CDM's to help defend (I need as much as I can get), 2 CAMs out wide, and the 2 strikers up front.

I used it right at the start and hated it. Played about 50 games too just to see if I could settle into it and couldn't

I used to really like it, and still do, for playing wide, the trouble is you miss a central CAM/CF so sometimes you can ed up playing wide & pretty 1 dimensional, obviously you dictate how you play, but thats my general finding with it.
 
4-2-3-1 is a fantastic formation. Although the CAM's are wide i found it to be a good option to switch the ball around. In fact i tend to play with this formation everyday with the odd game as 4-3-3 every now and then.
 
I find 4321 to be the best formation. I have tried 4231 as well but I couldn't get on with it.

To help defending I have 2 defensive mids and 1 creative one. Most people on here have 2 creative mids.
 
I made a full Spain team, 41212. I put Mata as a ST. I won 3 gold cups in a row.

It actually plays really well. I've beating teams that are built with pace abuse.

Anyone here used IF Cavani or SIF?

Are they much of an improvement over his NIF?

The stats look like they are but as we know on Fifa that can mean nothing!

For players who have TOTY or TOTS cards it's not really worth buying their in forms tbh. Stick with the NIF or save for their best card.
 
Just built a new team and was just going through the players, now ive had Torres from the start and used him as my striker, just realised hes the only player that was issued in 2012 for me, the person I bought him off must have put him up for sale straight away. Only had 2 clubs, me being one and only ever played for me :) Makes me sick though that you can now get him for about 5k and I paid 40k back in October
 
Is there a shortage of contract cards? They seem to be going for ridiculous prices at the moment - standard gold player contracts going for over 500+ coins each! I've never paid more than 300 in the last 6 months. Is this EA limiting supply?
 
New TOTWs are pretty undesirable to most folk - so less packs opened - so less contracts out there - people still playing, same or slightly lower demand, much lower supply - Price...TO THE MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!
 
What's Ibra like as the ST in a 4-3-2-1 formation (I'd have Lavezzi and Menez either side of him)? I'm going through a phase of making random teams and Ibra is one of the big name players I've not tried out yet.
