The ***Official*** Flatout:Ultimate Carnage Thread

Well my copy of Flatout just arrived and i must say its a very enjoyable game, stunning gfx and the level of destruction that can occur is simply staggering. All in all im enjoying it so far. Good combination with forza :)

Sorry for the poor quality doesn't really do the game justice, all the vids were taken using my phones camera. Id set it smooth video in the dropdown menu bottom right of the screen as it improves the visual quality a bit or set it to original size, also that music is ingame not by choice :p

Well i actually havent played the second but i have played the first and its leaps and bounds ahead of that and i must say im enjoying this far more than burnout revenge.
 
Yes you can buy cars and upgrades, cant comment on whether you can win them as ive been playing carnage mode atm and not the career lol.
 
No by the looks of it there is no splitscreen multiplayer which is my only gripe with the game, really should have been included however, Live more than makes up for it and there is a party mode where people can take it in turns to do the various mini games and stunts which looks quite good. The Visuals are stunning and silky smooth.

I was definitely going to get this but no split screen means probably not. Im so fed up with developers missing this key feature, what am i supposed to play when i have mates over? at least Bungie know what they're doing and can still provide 4 player offline multiplayer on one console. Even crackdown, online co-op, no offline.....thats just plain lazy. :mad:
 
One question - Can you play via live head to head racing, destruction derby arena's etc? If so how many, 8? It's not clear if it's just the mini games can be played on live...

Yes you can, its 8 player on live and there are normal race, derby and stunt modes.

Indeed they seem to forget this side in a lot of game now very annoying. :(
 
I know its a shame really but i can live with it, i just had a destruction derby on live and it was insanely good fun, came third lol but only because the guy who wrecked me was the only one not using a car but a lorry :p
 
Just added an offline destruction derby gameplay vid to my first post, wrecked within a minute, that should teach me for picking the wrong car :p I was like a wounded animal after my tyre was knocked off, I couldn't escape.

Because it is flatout 2 isn't it? I assumed this was just a slightly updated version of flatout 2 with some new content, hence the lower price :confused:
