My iPhone (1) cost me £130 I recall……at the time when you have to sign up to a contract but you do it later on….I jailbreaked it and didn't sign up.

Then iPhone 4 cost me £450.

iPhone 6 cost me £550…..

£999??? I really really can't.

If you get it through Very and you've never had credit account you might be able to get 20% so keep an eye out.

People did last year for the 7.

Shame I've already opened an account with them to get that discount on my HTC 10 last year, would come in handy for this.

Which would roughly work out at £800 for the X.

But I do want one and probably will bite.

Ridiculous price for a phone, other than the design which look great, there's barely any progress?

totally agree. I held out on ugrading for a year for this. I thought this was meant to be a step forward in tech for mobile phones... Talk about sod all innovation

If currently on IUP you would, I assume, pay 2 extra months payments than you need to on last years phone and also not be able to upgrade in September next year....

It does look good edge to edge (even if it's not strictly edgeless).

OLED will work well with the front camera/speaker surround too, app makers should keep the top of the apps black and it'll blend away nicely.

Why didn't they do a gold version. It looks stunning on the 8
They will...next years model ;).

Not sure I'm loathed to spend £1k on a 64 gb iPhone. The 256gb looks better but at close to £1200....ermm not so sure

Might go for the iPhone 8 plus at this rate.

Raymond,

You could get a cheap knock off camera that takes photos virtually as well a some of the obscenely expensive camera gear you buy. An expensive phone should be the least of your worries!

Ha, you don't know my cameras….the iPhone can't trigger my off camera flash for one thing.

I'd be more irritated by having to use my face to unlock the phone all the time. Phones sitting on the desk, do I have to lean over to unlock it? Also having it flash my face in the dark to work? What's wrong with infra-red illumination? I'm thinking it could be a tad cumbersome.
