If that's the case and I can't get an iPhone X well into next year then I wont bother and will just get the next revision.

Being on the upgrade plan it seems like a waste of money to hand back the phone to Apple next year when I may as well wait until the phone is mine outright and sell it.

Yep, this is my line of thinking as well.

I shouldn't be too annoyed as I often upgrade every 2 years anyway... But I took the upgrade plan because I knew Apple would be doing something 'special' this year. So in hindsight I should've just bought it outright like I usually do but oh well!

I'll try and get one but if I don't have one by the end of 2017 I'll probably just wait the 9 months until the Xs... Excess...

Same. I got into the habit of annual upgrades since it wasn't too much of a hit buying/selling outright for something I used heavily every day, but given supply/demand and it being 'first-gen' I'm going to hold back this time round - I waited for the 2nd gen iPad Pro's and the Series 3 will be my first Watch, so I know I have the willpower to wait a year for a new phone!

Hmmm, my 11th payment goes out by DD on Monday, not sure how that works if i pick up my phone tomorrow.....
They might ask you to pay it tomorrow as early termination payment and they will close the plan. When you take new phone on upgrade it's new plan/loan with new credit check etc.

Is it another £69 upfront due to it being a new agreement?

I may wait till Monday then as thats Payday. Cant really afford the final payment and then another £69 till then.
I've not done it yet but that would be my guess, as they are closing your current loan with Barclays and opening a new one.

I am going to be pre ordering one of these (64gb). My main reasons being that my six plus is now concerningly bent and i fear it may give up the ghost between now and 10 launching. I have used OLED screens before and that for me is now a big selling point. It is a lot of money but i think i can justify it by arguing that it's an item we use on a daily basis for quite a lot of activity.

I don't want to come across as "snobby" or anything to that nature but i don't really understand going cheap on daily drivers. For me it could be compared to other things we need in our lives such as footwear. A lot of my colleagues think im crazy for wearing an expensive set of altberg boots to work. Yet i walk miles every night at work as do many others in my department. All of whom complain of uncomfortable boots. I don't have that problem and yet im the idiot? Getting a nice mobile phone to me whilst it's not exactly in the same category as the aforementioned footwear. Is important in it's own right.... rambling over.

Won't be getting this on contract though i don't think. Probably just buy it outright as i have a £15 a month 6 month rolling contract with EE.

So i got the iphone 8 plus 256Gb at the weekend.
Not really noticing any new features that warranted the upgrade
Battery life is a lot better. Phone is a lot smoother at switching apps etc...

Am not noticing much difference with taking photo's, stage lighting booth is flakey, doesnt turn everything black and seems to have a problem with blonde hair!
Im also not noticing much improvement on normal photos over the 7 plus. However that could be just me I guess...
However, video recording at 4K 60FPS, is awesome! taken a few test videos, and the videos are beautiful, so fluent and smooth.

What about the screen with truetone, can you tell the difference?

The more I use the iPhone X simulator, the more tempted I am to buy an iPhone 8+.

The notch, rounded corners and home gesture area take up so much of the screen that the useable area for content is often lower than on the iPhone 8.

It feels like the iPhone 8+ is a much more practical phone.

I’m still getting an X, likely the silver since it looks pretty much white.

I want the new camera tech, the OLED screen and a design that doesn’t look 4 years old.

Also not willing to deal with the size of a plus phone.
