**** The Official Lenovo P2 Thread ****

It's better than the camera in the Vodafone smart ultra 6 and no one complained about that.
It's fine mate, what are these reviewers comparing to that's what they never say.

From that video I'd say 99% of people would be perfectly happy with the pictures produced.....there's another video showing the stock app v Open Camera which would appear to give better results but I've just done a brief comparison indoors between the 2 apps and could see no difference.
Bear in mind the OPO 3T is twice the price of the P2

The wife has a P2 and I've found the issue to be more that the P2 doesn't choose the right settings by default. Side by side the Nexus 6p tends to get everything right, and it does it quickly too.The focus wonders a little at times too, which would be my main problem with the phone. I'll post some links of her photos for people to have a look at some she's taken.

Excuse the photos, they're for the kids nursery.

Maybe it's just me, as someone who is not a camera buff and doesn't take many photos, but I would be perfectly happy with that photo quality.

The pics posted above from the P2 are acceptable, the 4K and video quality appears similar on YT reviews, bit blurry and shaky footage with detail lacking in places just like the pictures but still acceptable for most daily stuff.

I think this is why many reviewers on YT criticise the P2 for its poor camera and many other 2017 phones, I think for any phone to release now especially in 2017 and to not have comparable picture and video quality compared to say an Iphone 6 or Galaxy 6 which came out 2-3 years ago its pretty shocking and poor in quality.

Sadly almost all the phones that have come out in 2016/2017 and well priced around £150-250 still have not caught up to iphone/galaxy quality yet.

If I had to buy a phone today it would still be the p2 around £200, but id be displeased with the overall picture and video quality for sure.

Tried one from China didn't work so left it. And don't regret not using one. That's another thing with a 200 quid phone as long it got a case it's fine.

The OH checked out the P2 yesterday and was happy with it. The strong battery life and screen along with near stock android has swung it for her. As for the camera if it is fine for quick snaps and better than has last Moto G3 then that'll be fine as she wants to invest in a small micro thirds camera to progress her photography so can always sync the P2 to the Lumix for example and edit on the phone for her usual postings.

Can anyone recommend a decent tempered glass protector and a slim case or shell?

Cheers.

Hi all here. Also was thinking about buying P2 from Three. However there is apparently massive issue with the Microphone, when people cannot hear you when on speakerphone, on skype voice call or a whatsapp call. Also, apparently, same issue persist with very low audio signal during the video recording. Seem to be a badly programmed noise cancellation feature to blame. Could anyone who already bought the phone from Three share their experience on that? Has it been fixed with the latest Nougat update? I do appreciate you input here.

I got some film screen protectors coming soon as do not want any micro scratches on the screen.

Got this rugged type case rather than the slim gel type ones to protect it from bumps. Not the best looking but will do till something better comes.

£3.99 or cheaper from china.

I'm looking at getting one of these from Three. Is it unlocked when buying from them?

I have a Three SIM only as my personal phone and then a 'Plusnet' (EE Network) SIM only as a business phone. Hoping to combine the 2 using dual SIM.

Does WiFi calling work OK as well?

Has anyone tested this extensively with Android Auto (Nougat) via USB? I'm returning my Wileyfox Swift 2 Plus because it will not work with Android Auto unless I reboot the phone every time I unplug the USB cable. My Samsung S7 Edge used to work flawlessly in the same car.
