** The Official Mac OS X Leopard First Impressions and Review Thread **

Hopefully, mine still says the same as 5bjoshua's.

Fingers crossed we all get a nice dispatch email tomorrow for Friday delivery :)

Thought I'd bump this for the new recipients of the cat to post their experiences in :)

Has worked flawlessly so far. Not a single crash.

Took a few minutes to get all sorted (indexing of spotlight and get all my files over onto it, time machine is still backing up...) but all is well.

It's definitely a developer's upgrade - those expecting the big bang will be disappointed but it looks very nice and is even sharper than Tiger in my opinion.

I hope someone will hack the stupid system requirements soon so I can shove it on my iLamp too. Apparently as well as checking system requirements Leopard also has a database of machines it supports, so even if you have upgraded your machine to exceed the requirements if your machine was below spec when it was shipped it won't install.

I really don't understand why Apple are being such arses about it.

Won't do a software update...says network problem, yet I can get online with firefox and ichat. :(

I found a workaround, just installed iWork'08 and when i opened it said there was an update, downloading ilife and iwork updates now. Not sure if its downloading any leopard updates though.

Don't think im going to install leopard on my macbook pro yet, to much valuable stuff on it.

So far no crashes, its faster than Tiger (might just be cause its a fresh install though), and I am loving spaces, spotlight (its well fast now, no need for quicksilver or something similar) and the new Mail with RSS feeds.

All working perfectly, did a zero format on my HDD then fresh install. I'm liking it :)

Just putting my apps and that on now.

Loving it so far, but things seem a tad slower at the moment (like the genie effect for one)...might just need a reboot because of all the stuff i've been installing :) I did a fresh install.

Oh and Software Update works now, without any errors.

Edit:

I think it might just be Messenger:Mac that has the slow genie

Oh, and Mail still doesn't hide on startup even when you tell it to

W00T!

Happy now, updated and runs much better. Needed a shut down and cold start.

Also, very happy that i can use front row on my G5 now without having to use a IR hack. Looks smart also!

Command+Escape, if you didnt know.
