*****THE OFFICIAL***** MASS EFFECT THREAD

I do yeah, but i dont know if its my 360 or the disc. Thr drive spins down and goes silent, clicks a couple of times, tries to spin up again, drops back to silent, then I get the message about dirty disc

Yeah thats pretty much what mines doing every half hour or so. I'm having to save a lot more often that I'd like.

Same here. I'd had more issues with the game just stopping, clicking, then giving a disc error AND the only way out is to go back to dashboard.

I had that a lot when it was on its side. Lying it flat now and not had the problem since.

unfortunately mines been flat since I've had it. It normally happens after a couple of hours though with me. Maybe the disc is getting hot and warping slightly and the laser is missing the data - a long shot i know...

WHAT? Did you even do ANY of the side quests?

I've been playing 12 hours and I haven't even touched the main storyline since leaving the citadel.

I did some of them, but the storyline was so compelling I just fired straight through it. Im 10hours into my second play through and have done 1 planet since leaving the citadel :)

just finished
personally, i thought i did nearly all the side quests i could find... talked to everyone in every room in every place.. but finished it in 25 hours?

great ending, cant wait for number 2

the combat really gets into it's own at low levels with an adept, it's quite challenging to say the least, cant rescue that lady as the mini boss bit is too hard

Just completed after 25 hours, did all the sidequests I could find.

Non-spoiler sum up - I loved it, first game thats kept me thoroughly engrossed and wanting more in a long long time. Loved the characters, the impressive cinematics and the overall quality of the game.

However....

I find myself slightly dissapointed in the story. It was fairly predicatable right though, lacked any real Bioware flair that they've proven in past games (like in KOTOR) and while the ending was very well done, I just expected more. It seemed to borrow too much from the KOTOR story while lacking the twists and real character interaction that made it such an epic. The lull in the middle meant the game lost its momentum slightly too.

That said, I did enjoy the 'big' decisions they gave you at certain points, really made me think. Will have to play it again to see.

Oh, and where the hell was the NPC interaction? They made a point at the start about some of your crew having some 'racist' traits, yet they never followed through with it. Other than the occasional (and it was occasional) crossed word in a lift, they may aswell have not know each other. Again, back to KOTOR you had some great exchanges based on your team choice which made them seem, well, like a crew.

Maybe I just expected to much? Have Bioware set the gaming narrative bar so high that they themselves are finding it difficult to surpass it?

Don't get me wrong, I'll re-iterate that it was a fantastic gaming experience and I can't wait for ME2, but I just felt it lacked a little of that Bioware magic that I've come to love.

I think your only choice is to hop into the Mako and head back to the Normandy. Then return to the planet and you'll get to choose a new squad.

I finished it a second time last night going for the weapons achievements. Looking at the Biotic achievements it does look like it'll be a whole load of hassle. Oh and there's more than 3 people you can boink in the game! :o :D

completed it twice now 1st time as good sheperd guy on normal difficulty, and second time on hard as evil woman les be friend sheperd, going to go for insanity difficulty next and try to get to level 60. love games like this
