**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

Totally agree with Bradmax57. :)

kitkat2015 you clearly don't know enough about these phones to make such a comment. Also a totally pointless downgrade to go to a C version, the F version is the most supported version for Firmware and Roms if you ever decide to root. The C version has hardly any support in that area.

I also don't recommend rooting the phone unless you want to play with other Roms, otherwise don't bother and tripping Knox which will in some cases invalidate your warranty or in the future when you will sell it you will get a lot less for it.

I see no good reason to root it, 1st phone ever I have not had to do that to, because the stock software is great and does everything you need and touchwiz is a lot better now. 5.1.1 has also made it more snappy again (not like it was slow before). Only good reason I can think off to root this phone is to remove any software that is not removable but again disabling it works just as well, but if you need to recover the space then yes maybe root it and delete some of the stock apps that are of no use.

Look to be lots of ROMs variable here, I see no shortage of support as you suggest.....

Take a close look

BTW why is it a downgrade?

What firmware are you on? Atm I'm on N910CXXU1COI4 LP 5.1.1. Is the F on 5.1.1?

Im on a 910F. N910FXXU1COH4 5.1.1
Been available for a month on samsungs fw site. Im on 3 network
Just how much better is a wolfson DAC?
Im very skeptical about ever being able to ditch an ipod with a samsung phone, apple seriously need to make their iphone somewhat as good as a samsung offering. I would never buy an iphone as it seems like a downgrade but at the same time theres no way im listening to my tunes on this note 4 when ive got an ipod handy.

It's way better than an ipod or iphone. Poweramp with a Wolfson dac is spot on.

Snapdragon is ok, but not as good.

Google it.

It's personal choice but to say the note 4 C is downgrade is talking out of an a hole.

...And. How is it :p

It's a huge upgrade. I'm glad I waited so long to upgrade as the feeling of change is massive.

The screen is as beautiful as the reviewers say. It feels very solid with the metal frame yet thin and light too.

It also feels incredibly snappy. Currently running 5.0.1 unbranded.

Got it via mobile phones direct for £430, less a few quid cash back via quidco. Ordered on a Sunday afternoon and arrived on Monday so I've been using it all week.

It's exactly what I wanted and I love it. I'm still exploring it, but the only thing I don't like so far is that I can't get the fingerprint scanner to unlock the phone reliably.

When you're inputting your fingerprint, don't try to replicate the same slide every time... Make sure you change the angle slightly each time and you will find it will unlock much better

Indeed, then register the same finger print again with more angles and it should function perfectly then.

I'd also recommend moving to 5.1.1, it is much better on my note 4.

Considering selling my 910F. Not happy about the state of things on Android and I can't see the Note 4 getting 6.0 either. Does anyone know if 5.1.1 for the 910F exists yet?

My only choice at this time is to sell up and look at iOS or hold out and see what the next Nexus is like.

5.1.1 can't be far away surely? I'm very tempted to chop mine in for a 6s+, I'm easily getting a day and a half of battery out of it but iOS is starting to appeal again.

I have a 910F and 5.1.1 is out there, but not a UK version. Easily flashed with Odin though. It was discussed here a few pages back.

Cheers, will take a look. Haven't been following this thread properly for a while.

For me, ipod is perfect, dont need to mess about with no eq or use a headphone amp. I guess it depends on what genre you mostly listen to, for me its dnb. Any phone ive had is severely lacking in bass.

Flashed 5.1.1 on a 910F yesterday and have to say the phone feels a lot better for it.

Much more responsive and great battery life.

Does flashing a foreign 5.1.1 on a UK phone void warranty? Is it in any way risky on a brand new sim free phone?

Not sure how long we're going to have to wait for the official OTA update...

I'm finding similar. Not sure that i notice much difference in battery life but apps definitely load up more quickly. Also, so far, the fire tv app connection has been stable, unlike before where it would drop at will. Had it updated via OTA for about a week now.

A few days in to my 6S+ use now, moving from my Note 4, and while it's not a huge change overall, it's certainly a far nicer experience.

Will probably swap back to the Note 4 for a day next week and see if it can win me back.
