**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

I assume the reason why Facebook & FB Messenger seems to update icon notifications is because I linked Facebook to Samsung when I first set up the phone?

Even though I've turned off actual notifications I still get them on the app icons. What's the best way to delink / turn this off?

I'm tempted to just factory reset and root and go on a crusade against Samsung rubbish.

Thought I'd try a tempered glass screen protector, so got an Ultimate Shield from Amazon for a tenner...

I can get tempered glass screen protectors for free to test for a friend. He's given me about 4-5.

The first batch were a reasonably good fit, they cover the entire screen just about. The problem I had though was due to the curved screen, the screen protector does not set around the edges. Not a problem at all when the screen is on because you can't tell, but you can when the screens off. I tried fitting 2 of these and it was the same result each time. I then fitted one on my brothers Note 4 and it was MUCH better than on mine i.e. it was less raised at the edges, in fact it's an almost perfect fit. I then went and tried another on mine but yet again the same result.

I've also tried the second batch which were slightly narrower, but these were also slightly raised at the edges and they didn't cover the entire screen (like in your pics) so I went back to the original ones.

What brand of tempered glass screen protectors did you use?, are they from the same brand, with just different results?

I'm about 99% sure i'll be getting a samsung note 4, its a upgrade from my old iphone 4, so i'm just doing some research on what screen protectors now.
Can anyone recommend a SD card for the note 4 something like a 64gb?

Brand - Ultimate shield.

Yes the Note 4 screen is curved at the edges slightly so it's hard to get the glass protectors to sit right. Hence why the shields have been made so narrow, but I prefer the wider ones that cover the entire screen even though it's raised slightly all around the edge. Completely unnoticeable right now as I'm using the phone, it's not like when you have an air bubble right in the middle of the screen which annoys the hell out of you.

I used the same brand ones on mine 3 times and got the same result each time, but the same brand protector applied to my brothers Note 4 gave a much better result the first time!! Maybe the curvature of the screens varies ever so slightly, I don't know.

One thing I noticed last night is that having my phone in a case has actually caused little scratches in the metal trim around the phone. Bits of grit must get under the rubber and erode it :( Nothing too bad but it spoils the sexiness a tad.

Tampered glass looks more clean and does not leave finger prints or grease marks like normal ones that's what I have noticed

I don't see why you'd buy a tempered glass screen protector to protect your phone from keys - your screen won't be scratched by them anyway.

It will be scratched by sand - but so is a tempered glass one...

I've never really used them myself, but I've always seen them as a sacrificial shield. Should the screen get scratched for any reason I'd rather it be the protector than the phone itself.

So even if on the off chance something does scratch it, you've only lost the cost of the screen protector, rather than permanently damaging a £500+ phone. :)

Because it feels better than the plastic shields and protects the screen. Simple as that.

Anyone rooted there note 4 yet? Also whats the best app for cpu speed control. I used to use SetCpu but reading the comments I don't know if that's going to be as good now.
