**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

I'm using the Spigen crystal hard surface screen protector, changes the feel ever so slightly, not really a fan of screen protectors, its only a temporary measure untill i can get my hands on a Spigen tempered glass one.
but i managed approx 18 months with my S4 with no screen protector and had no scratching, I guess its just a risk you take.
 
Ordered a Black model this morning from Argos for £600. No solid ETA email yet, so I'll have to wait until Monday I guess. They did say they'll be in touch by 20th November so far.

I am more keen on the Note 4 Edge but just can't be bothered waiting for that thing to come out.
 
Yeah, mine will be the same. Surprised ODIN is still around, I last used that on my S3 lol. Cheers for the info.

So no stock at argos, just on a waiting list? or just no ones working on the internet orders at weekend.
 
I'll report back! Think I'm gonna try and grab one on payg for a change. Do stores still try and hold them back for contracts as a priority?
 
Still not sure what I think about this phone.
Does anyone here have GTA vice city they can try on it?
Its a good test because it really stresses this phone when you max the settings. With Samsung and touchwiz DVFS disabled It runs as smooth as butter but it goes up from about 35 degrees up to about 70 degrees but stays completely smooth the whole time. I don't know whats the max acceptable temp for this phone?
if I run it with DVFS enabled which is the normal setting for this phone once the temp reaches about 56 degreees it throttles the cpu and gpu down to about half and the game suddenly becomes a laggy mess.

This must be the same for others as my idle temp for this phone is in the 30's.
 
So nothing in stock in about 5 shops I went in. Apart from 3.

However they would only sell it to me as an upgrade not sim free. Rage.
 
Isnt ART messed up on this phone at the moment. When I tried it every tried I rebooted the phone it would spend ages updating apps each time.

ART on 4.4 is still very much a beta/work in progress.

It's pretty functional, and there's only a few things that go wrong when used, but it's far from a fully finished release.
 
I will say one thing.. if you have rooted your phone you should disable the Samsung dvfs. My phone feels so much smoother now and doesn't throttle when it heats up which it did before.

Could anyone else Also tell me what there idle cpu temp is when on the phone desktop and what it goes up to in games.
This is CPU temp not battery temp..
You can use CpuTemp with the on screen display to check.

If im correct it should be around 35 degres when idle and around 56 or so in a decent game with the default DVFS enabled.
