**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

I bought a flip case for mine yesterday, I've always thought they'd hinder the way I use/hold the phone and sadly I was correct. It's a right ballache but I'll stick with it and see if it waers in or I get used to it.

The problem is the cover flipping back over on a table and in one handed use, if I hold the flip part under my fingers the phone feels too unstable so perhaps the crease just needs to wear in a bit.

Anyone used GPS and Bluetooth at the same time with their note 4?

Ie I want both working while driving. Thanks

pretty much any phone can do this.

I even managed to do it on like an old moto g (gen 1).

I have always used my phone over bluetooth for music and as a sat nav with either google maps or waze.

I sometimes have issued doing 3 at the same time. e.g. when I am driving along and playing spotify music to my parrot kit, whilst also using sat nav and I then get a phone call. It comes through fine but after the phone call it can sometimes disconnect the bluetooth music and i need to connect it again.

I don't know if it's a specific phone issue, android issue or a parrot issue.

Tested Bluetooth today and seems to work fine.

Shame the battery isn't as good as my old Huawei ascend mate 7. Anyone got any tips to improve the battery life?

I think you miss your old phone mate what happened to it

Nah I like the note overall it's much nicer to hold just missing a few features.

I'm sure there is an option to turn off WiFi etc while away from home, turn off auto download and push alert's but it was easier to find on emui android :o

Sent my old phone back to amazon as there was a couple issues with it

Battery Life. I dont understand.

Yesterday I used it as normal, bluetooth and Wifi on, occasionally browsed/used snapchat. Used whatsapp for most of the day. Come 10pm it was on 50%

Today, I've used it for exactly the same stuff, probably less use than yesterday and its already down to 40%?!

Makes no sense.

Have a look at app consumption and take it from there. Also bear in mind mobile reception signal has a huge impact on battery too.

Just says android system using most of it.

Yeah it's been in pretty much the same position give or take a metre or so both days

I'd download BetteryBatteryStats to investigate it a bit further, sounds like some service is preventing the phone from going into deep sleep.

Mine does similar things, last couple of days it's emptied the battery in 20 hours.
Today, running similar apps & screen time, after 8 hours I'm still at 91%

Anyone rate the note 4 wireless charger?

I think I'll download that better battery tool cos I find mine isn't great after a long day driving and using it as GPS!

Also does Bluetooth kill the battery? I'm tempted by a smart watch

Well, my Note 4 appears to have stopped wanting to charge. I've tried 3 different chargers, and 2 different cables. Nothing seems to work.

Oddly enough, I tried plugging it into my work PC and it's charging (albeit very slowly), but the PC doesn't recognise it so I can't run a backup.

Anyone dealt with Samsung's warranty team? What's the turnaround time like on average?

Thanks.

about over a week. you have to go to the nearest samsung repair center

Thanks for that - my nearest Samsung repair place is about 40-50 miles away :( I'd have thought there'd be at least one closer to Birmingham.

I've got a really small brush at home so I'll try cleaning out the USB port in case there's some debris in there making a crappy connection. There's gotta be something stopping the charger from working, but allowing the PC to charge it slowly

i had a similar issue where mine would do this:

Question. Is there a way to hook up a Note 4 (or modern phone) to your body? Rather than buy a Go Pro, wondered if I could use my Note 4 or S4 as a recording device strapped to my body :p:o

Has anyone encountered 'bubbles' under the screen glass?

My Note 4 seems to have one appear out of nowhere in the very top right corner, it's definitely under the glass but above the screen.

I had a similar thing with my 2G Apple iPhone but that got replaced, what's the chances of Samsung replacing/fixing it?

After a lot of effort (apps like better battery stats was reporting usage info that was too generic to narrow it down) I found this kind of battery behaviour on my note was caused by data usage monitoring apps especially onavo count. It seems some of the lower level OS features they use can internally get a bit screwy at times but the battery drain isn't attributed to the apps themselves.

Genuine Samsung flip cover seems to give no protection whatsoever.
I'd been using my spigen neo hybrid cover along with tempered glass for a year. I fancied a change so refitted my flip cover and removed the grazed tempered glass a ran out of luck shortly after when it slipped out of my hand when getting out of the car. Flip case opened as it fell and landed face down and smashed to ****. Luckily my Halifax account has mobile cover and will only sting me 30 quid excess. Only plus point I can see is that I have a fair amount of screen burn on the top quarter inch of the screen so that'll be sorted. Still love this phone and no temptation to change it for any other current/new models though if the Note 6 is good...

Interesting, I'm having similar problems.
