*****The OFFICIAL OCUK 2013/2014 Fantasy Football League*****

I remember that about 10 years ago whilst I was playing Championship Manager, a certain Belgium player also call Edin Hazard also was mentioned in the PC games forums here to be a bargain/gem, he would get buttload of goals, was fast and skillful.

How funny how accurate Championship Manager is !

Just reminded me again that the new Football Manager will be out soon!

I was surprised that Lukaku did't start Sunday, I thought that Jose would give him a chance.

Yes he is a lot better than torres, why they keep sticking with him i dont know.

With them playing man utd on sunday, im expecting a few changes, captain mata to start please.

I just traded for Benteke.

If Maureen keep starting with Torres or even half the games and have Lukaku on the bench then Benteke will be more certain to get 20 goals than Lukaku.

Lots of stuff flying round that Mourinho doesn't like Mata/Hazard/Oscar delete depending on the paper you read.

With the cost in FF you pay makes it risky picking them, have a bad feeling he will drop Hazard and go with Schurle/Oscar/De Bruyne.

He will drop anyone who isn't performing for the team, at least that is his stance.

But part of the problem with picking players in the big teams with big squads is because they have a big squad of players to choose from. They can afford to rotate players around, that is the risk you take. The benefit is that these teams tends to do well because they are resting players but it just means for the FF side of things, you are playing pot luck on who is playing or dropped on a weekly basis.

The only way to tell is after at least half a dozen games to see if there is a pattern he sticks to, the spine of his team or his favourites. I know Man City has a big and strong squad but I can't see him not playing Yaya Toure in that many games. He won't be part of the rotational system but more of a player who will be rested before a big game.

Chelsea has so many new faces in midfield it is difficult to tell, although I am sticking with 2 Chelsea midfielders for now, there's a strong chance that at least one of them will play at least. I guess just don't make them Captain……give that to Van Persie instead, I can see him scoring another 25+ goals again this season.

David Prutton was amazing on Championship manager, absolute dog dirt in real life.

Yep it's a tough one to manage, my strategy is usually to play it moderately safe these days and avoid players if I think they are likely to be rotated, unless they are particularly well priced (Dzeko just about falls into this category). This means that sometimes I don't have the best players from a given club because there may be worse players at the same club that are more likely to start due to less competition in their position.

If you take the MU midfield they have a lot of attacking threat i.e. Kagawa, Young, Nani, Valencia, Zaha etc but it is far too much of a minefield and I've basically steered clear except for a brief flirtation with Kagawa at the start of last season. If Kagawa was starting every week then he'd be worth the £8m IMO, but it is too much of a risk. Similarly I have no Chelsea strikers despite their double gameweek because with a new manager coming in I wanted to get a feel for how they would typically shape up first.

Of course, there are times when my rotation fears mean I miss out on big hauls from quality players - at the start of last season for example I missed the boat on Hazard because I was worried about how he would fit in a team with Mata, Oscar, Lampard etc, but I don't like tying up large sums in non-starters. I dropped Oscar from my squad in favour of Ivanovic due to fears about whether he'd start both games :/

One of the good things about Spurs is by and large they tend to pick a fairly consistent team although it remains to be seen how their midfield will shape up this term.

Practically every Chelsea player is a risk at being dropped, even Maureen's lucky charms, Frank himself.

I too have stayed clear of Man United midfielders, and to be honest, since Ronaldo left, they don't have any stand outs anymore. No one that can guarantee you 10+ a season, and for midfielders, you want ones that scores the odd goal and Michu/Lampard/Walcott are what you want. These players get into the box and take a shot, in the case of Michu and Walcott, sometimes it is like you have a 4th Striker in your team. Getting a defensive midfielders is bad business IMO, going for that clean sheet from midfielder is no point, an attacking midfielder gets the clean sheet points regardless so you might as well get one that goes forward a bit more and get that goal compare to one that doesn't.

You are right about Spurs, I gone for Soldado up front, he will start every game, that is as certain as you can get in this game, same as Van Persie.

The only person you can be sure to start every game is Cech, to a lesser degree Ashley Cole, but mostly because he has no real competition apart from Ryan Bertrand, but like I said... No real competition, no offence Ryan.

I'm thinking of dropping Lukaku for Benteke next game week but I would need to gain back £1mill from somewhere else, Mutch at £4.5 mill would be the one to go but how could I get in for £3.5 instead?
