**** The Official OnePlus 3 Thread ****

We shall see. I personally wouldn't get one for myself due to lack of stereo speakers and more storage. I could possibly get one for my mum though.

Just ordered one, got a OPO for my wife and I've been hanging on for the OP3 as my Nexus 5 is a bit rubbish these days.

Fingers crossed this will be as good as it looks

Never had a smartphone :D Mostly because I hate things that break/stop working quickly, and all phones seem buggy. Really tempted with this one though.

Do you need to buy anything except the phone and a case? Any special connectors etc. required?

EDIT: A case costs €25 but the starter accessories cost €30 and they give you a glass protector and earphones. Looks like the bundle may be worth it.

Wanting to switch back to Android, primarily due to iOS being buggy, animations being slow and surpressing input, Siri being unresponsive and generally useless. It's just getting in the way more than it used to.

The OP3 seems to be perfect. Same material selection as the rest of the premium market, probably will have excellent third party ROM support, top-end hardware, a 1080p display (1440p is nice and all but honestly, you need to nitpick to see the difference), and dirt cheap.

The only thing I'm worried about with the OP3 is audio, both out of the headphone jack and speaker.

Why is third party ROM support important? Surley you'd want a stable bug free native ROM over a ROM a bunch of bedroom coders have made. Don't get me wrong the idea of custom ROMs is brilliant, but there just so many people doing it it's hard to find one that ticks all the boxes.

I'm using a custom ROM on my K3 Note which finally works apart from my phone won't connect via BT to some devices now. But it's the closest I'm gonna get to a perfect experience. What's annoying is when another ROM update comes out they "recommend" a factory reset, which if you don't and then experience bugs you get told by the support group to do a factor reset! You know how annoying that is not to mention the time it takes to adjust things back to the way I like them!

Rant over.

Tl;dr the oneplus 3 should have its own stock android ROM and not buggy CM13

Never had a smartphone... Dayum-son.

Always had a laptop/PC, and when I'm out with friends I hate when people use their phones. I don't even message or call a lot. I was never under contract, and spend like €5 top up a month lol. I also tend to not be very attentive with stuff like this. While I never really lose stuff, I tend to break stuff easily. Plus, I'd rather upgrade the PC then spend money on a phone.

Now I have some money so why not? At least i can keep in touch more.

Elrasho - the OP 3 does not use CM13, its uses oxygen OS.

And custom Rom's are great, running one and a custom kernel on my Nexus right now. And restoring apps and settings ain't no thing with Titanium backup.

Each to their own buddy. Good luck on your first smartphone purchase. Though picking a oneplus if you looking for all out reliability is probably not the wisest choice.

Tempted by this, none of the reviews mentioned buggy software though. Is this something that will crop up later through usage or should reviewers have at least noticed something was amiss if glaring bugs existed?

That guy on YouTube from America that does a lot of mobile reviews has been using his for 2 weeks and says it's still the same as it came out if the box. Thats promising.

I want to see more examples of indoor low light pictures

This may well be my next phone, been struggling with a 2nd gen moto g for a while, getting slower and slower...

Was looking at the new moto G plus 32/64gb or the nexus 5x 32gb, but at over £200 for any of those, the One Plus 3 with 64gb and 6GB ram at £309 seems like a no-brainer.

How regular are the updates for oneplus devices? I'm a fan of stock android (also have a Nexus 7 2nd gen) and like to have the latest version.

Not great to be honest. In fact, in some cases slower than the almost-glacial Samsung. Hopefully it will improve, but OnePlus are not known for fast updates.
