Well you keep talking about physical width but its not the physical width that attracts people to 21:9. 21:9 is an aspect ratio, it has no link to physical width. I was just addressing that point.
I know.
Yes, the Philips is larger. No doubt there will probably be larger superwides as well.
but then how freakin wide will they be
And the rest of the time you have massive black bars to look at. And people thought 1.78:1 films on a 16:9 was bad....
We get the Phillips is larger and we get you like the VA black's ( i had a benq gw2760hs, great black's) but its not like the Philips is perfect is it? You have black, but you also have VA glow and VA response times. Its not a perfect display by any means.
im not who the 'we' is here, are you hanging around with cloaked figures in the dark again or is that your alternate personalities talking..
tbh ive not had a problem with VA response times with panels that have a properly managed overdrive circuit. Also as eyetrip said you don’t stare the black bands. VA glow the reason I chose VA is because it doesn’t glow .. yes it has a viewing cone but ive never had glow on VA panels just a flat black background, unless your talking AHVA ?
as I said 21:9 is cool still, my main point is that both the width AND the aspect ratio are better/same on this screen but as D3lirious said you may aswell enjoy the full height of the screen, go with 16:9 and just increase the fov slider a bit in game.. more than enough aspect.
failing that buy two flanking 27" screens and have a 4k eyefinity PLP setup
