Try that just choose the speaker volume instead :). Resogun is just so good - Housemarque just make great games IMO...

Hold the ps button down and there should be an option to turn the controller speaker off or reduce the volume.

cheers lads phew can play without mrs regretting buying me this lol out of all the free games whats the best ? like the look of war thunder not sure on black light or war frame

I like Blacklight but it's very basic and suffers from a lack of maps and some ridiculous lag sometimes.
WarFrame is actually really good but as I say in the Warframe thread the cost to buy items is far too high.
 
Had my first stint of online gaming in a party tonight. The voice chat quality is terrible, even with adjusting the volume from within the settings menu.
Will getting better headphones make a difference or is psn just poor for voice comms?

I dont think its great using the supplied headset, definitely not good enough not to want a better headset thats for sure. One thing I have noticed is that there doesnt appear to be sufficient noise cancellation sometimes - only really noticed that with randoms rather than proper party chat which is usually fine. Why do people think we want to hear their **** europop? :rolleyes:

We are all using the bundled headsets for party chat, it's difficult to make out what people are saying sometimes.

Are there any cheap upgrades or should we just go for something like a turtle beach headset and don't mess around with a cheap one?

Wireless... then Turtle Beach PX4s are a good shout. They've been good to me. £99 so not as bank breaking as Astros and separate mixamps that folks like.

Wired, know a couple of people who recommend the Siberia V2s. Not sure how the chat cable works with those though or whether they had to do anything special.

Out of the 8 or more games I've got I think NBA is probably my most addictive. It's not the "best " out now them all but it's certainly the most fun and addictive.

it's even worse on XB1, with Kinect being a mic unless you turn the mic off then you hear a lot of crap, hoovering being my personal fav so far :p

The chat volume for the PS4 seems to be very low. I'm using the same headset for me PS4 and I do my 360 and I need to set the chat volume a lot higher on PS4 so I can hear people properly.

As for a headset - you're probably best buying one of these and a headset to go with them. I've got a pair of these and a PS4 chat cable and they work fine. £80 for a pair of Dolby Digital headphones is pretty good.
