I managed to get on COD earlier for a few games but it's gone down again (on a 2x XP weekend) surprised by single player games not working in some cases, if they want a digital only future they need to get on top of #£%^ like this.

Sooo. I've always preferred to buy discs, so I don't actually know, but does the PSN being down presumably mean people can't play digital only games?
Think it depends on the game, likely the same even with some disc versions.

They seem to have little data on some discs and you end up downloading 50gb as part of the install anyway.

I did get kicked off The Division 2 last night a couple of times. Unfortunately these things happen, but down time with the console networks does sting that bit more when you consider the premium that is charged for it.

I haven't played COD for a long time but you can't play any component at all without PSN these days (warzone, campaign, zombies), I think it's the same whether you bought the disc or digital. I don't game that much, but I reckon quite a few games are literally useless without the PSN servers being up these days, regardless of the medium you bought the game on.

One thing I do remember in my gaming heydey was Sony are rubbish with comms, that seems to be the case for this downtime as well!
1 update in 12 hours.

I was playing a bit of AC Valhalla this morning on disc, didn't notice the PSN issue until it tried to sync with servers.

Probably no real issues because it's an old gane that's not updated anymore.

What a joke. Can't even play a single player game (Kingdom Come 2) because it needs the Internet to confirm I have the DLC...
Yikes, that's not good.... although, I played it this morning around 9 ok (have disc copy if that matters)

I get these things can happen but it’s an absolute joke. Radio silence for 12 hours, no update, no ETA…nadda.

No games work at all for me.

Don't worry, their investors will be livid so you can guarantee they'll be putting up PSN and game prices to appease them ASAP.

The customers will get two fingers and accept it.

I just don’t get why an offline single player game purchased on a users home console has to keep checking for a game license. What kind of BS is this.
