Someone else's quote but looks like it:

Non-essential retail can remain open for delivery to customers and click-and-collect.

Ultimately the shops could just decide to furlough their staff as they'll get more monies this way. So even though they can offer the service, they may just shut.

I can see this being the problem. The scheme doesn't give any opportunity to bring staff back for a couple of days over the console launches.

On the upside, the leak gave us all plenty of notice that this is happening, and chances are most stock is still sat in warehouses. Transitioning from in-store collection to delivery shouldn't be impossible.

Worries about lockdowns/etc were the main reason I didn't order to collect in store/etc or use a locker service as right now your can't be sure whether anywhere will be open.

Delivery to your house is the safest option in the event of any covid restrictions.

Out of interest does anyone here replay games? Aside from ones where you can vary builds like Skyrim or Fallout I cannot recall the last game I replayed. I'm generally a once and done kind of person with games especially single player story ones.

I've replayed the souls games multiple times each and shadow of colossus a couple of times but that's about it, I very rarely go back to play through DLC either once I've completed it as I'm not one for continuing after the story.

Time to start thinking about what 'next gen' games I want, as I have a feeling the lockdown may be longer than 4 weeks.

Out of the new games, Demon's Souls looks great but isn't really my cup of tea, one for 6 months time when it's cheaper. Sack boy and Borderlands 3 (the latter getting a PS5 update) both interest me, but they're best played co-op so will need to wait for mates to buy/Cross play etc.

Cyberpunk I'll be waiting for the PS5 update.

No man's sky will be one on the list I think, other than that it's just spiderman! Probably worth getting the remastered version too as I missed out on that, now just to work out the best way to play it!

Buy Miles morales PS4 std version for £45, upgrade to PS5 version for free, then buy the remastered copy digitally, for £?? Presumably it won't need the Miles Morales disc in to play, it'll be a standalone digital game? Can then sell Miles Morales after completing it.

Still undecided about doing boomerang game rental as there's not much I'd want to rent right now, that will probably change in a month or 3.

Horizon Zero Dawn is only £16 at the moment so tempted to pick that up too, no PS5 update but it already looked excellent on the PS4 pro, and I really should play it before Forbidden West comes out.

Along with the PS+ collection, and Bugsnax of course, that should keep me going a while!

I've gone for Miles + Spider-Man remaster. Will play the remaster first as I've only played the first 30 minutes or so. Then I've got Demon's Souls as well and all the benefits of PS+ Collection (20 titles). Were also getting Bugsnax, Shadow of War and Hollow Knight in November. So, yeah plenty to be getting on with!

I think my PS4 knows it's getting replaced soon, had 5 instances over the last two days where the cd keeps randomly ejecting mid game.

I'm sitting here hoping that lockdown doesn't delay things - but it is what it is.
I ordered via Amazon, about a minute after pre-sales went live. I'd like to think Amazon will continue operating as normal over the next 4+ weeks.
I guess physical delivery itself could delay things - more people ordering stuff because they are in lock down, large boxes so you can't get as many in a van....
I'd already booked 19th - 24th November off work. I expect (would like to think) I'll be working from home soon, but if it doesn't get here on or around launch day I'm sure I'll live.

Only AC:V is tempting me. Watchdogs I'll grab when it ends up on PS+ one day or on sale for maybe a tenner.

If there's anything good about us having to wait a week after the Jap/US launch it's that we'll have the benefit of being able to read reviews on all the games before pre-ordering. I'd suggest that nobody should be pre-ordering anything software wise until we get some impartial feedback about the launch titles!

Godfall ..... need ANYONE say more ?

Isn't the general impression that this looks like a deepy uninteresting and generic 3rd person looter/slasher? Looks to me like it'll be in the bargain bin or free on PS plus within a year. Makes the £70 price tag pretty hard to swallow IMO!

Still can't decide what to get in terms of launch titles with my PS5. Demon's Souls looks cool but there's the issue of that £70 price tag! Maybe I'll grab the new Call of Duty title as that's bound to be well supported in terms of multiplayer online and should have a bit of longevity.

I'm waiting until the 12th for reviews before pressing the order button on any games personally
