There has been a lot of this during these launches unfortunately. I had my Xbox X stolen within the Royal Mail network along with a lot of others, and I've heard of problems with Amazon too.

I thought that Amazon had implemented this six-digit PIN system to stop this after so many Xboxes went missing. They send the customer a PIN which has to be entered on the delivery driver's phone before the item can be marked as delivered. That would seem a good idea.

I hope you get it sorted out. Amazon are normally quite good at getting refund out at least - Game haven't even responded to any emails about mine 9 days later!

no idea about the 6 digit pin or anything, the update just says handed to resident.

Have to say i am so ****** off today but not the only person without a PS5

Had 2 pre-orders with Game today , after 1hr+ wait got to checkout sorted out payment ready to comfirm orders " OUT OF STOCK "

Consider yourself lucky. There are a few people like myself that that pre-ordered months ago and paid when asked but still didn’t get one.

Now got one due sometime before mid-December. Hopefully!

Dumb question

If I buy an external SSD will I see the same loading speeds as the internal ssd, as if not I'll just buy a traditional external hard drive

Nope. The internal SSD's are amongst the very fast on the market today (not officially confirmed which ones yet), so you'll be fine with a traditional hard drive.

They should refund you after sending and affidavit form through for you to sign. That's what they did for me a year or so back when a delivery driver stole a high value item and marked it as delivered.

Did you see him? Apparently, the current trick is for them to actually pull up outside your house so that the GPS tracker shows they have at least been there. When my item was stolen, the driver didn't even do that, Amazon admitted that he was a few streets away when the delivery was made!

The sooner they make the PIN mandatory for all high value items the better. The problem with the PS5 is that you are able to get £600 cash for it straight away from CEX. That is probably quite attractive to a casual driver who just started last week and has now got a van full of them! The price of the item they stole from me was much higher, but they probably only got a small proportion of that value because the market isn't so big.

Firstly - sorry to all those that either weren't able to secure a pre-order or are having retailer/courier issues. I wish you luck on you endeavours.
Amazon Logistics arrived at 3:00 this afternoon for me, an hour before the tracking expected.
Thankfully what was supposed to be in the box was in the box. The box was undamaged and a little while later, all switched on and away I'm going.
I didn't do any kind of data transfer from the PS4. Rest Mode has been disabled and at the moment - I'm not using an external SSD - just in case.

Loving Astrobot, playing while other games are updating.
Two little things I've noticed so far.
As I inserted each PS5 game disc I have to select "Copy" instead of it automatically installing. It also immediately puts a download of the latest patch into my download queue.
On each and every game that has then popped up with "Something went wrong" a few seconds later.
Nothing has gone wrong, the patch downloads and once the game has finished installing, the patch installs without issue.

Other thing, if I go into my game library, none of my physical PS5 games are listed unless the disc is in the drive.
So although Miles Morales, AV: Valhalla, Watch Dogs Legion & Sackboy are all installed - my library only shows the one with the disc in the drive at the time. Seems a little odd.

Anyway, back to the console - she is a thing of beauty.

thought they patched rest mode

I tried every outlet throughout today and nothing. I had all sorts of things ready like passwords saved for websites, quick pay options enabled where possible so no time wasted putting in card details. One place I even had store credit to use so no card payment. And STILL, every single time, every website would **** itself and crash.

Something that really grinds my gears with these manic launch cluster ***** is even when you successfully add the item to your shopping basket, the ‘system’ can and does simply remove it whenever it wants. THAT is wrong and I think it’s disgusting retailers get away with it. It should add to cart and it gives you 15 mins to complete or it gets removed.

Do we all run the gauntlet when buying something in a shop, getting to the checkout without someone taking stuff out your trolley?!? (Well I guess it does depend where you live and shop) but you get my point.

**** show today but at least I can play Cyberpunk 2077 tonight...

Oh no wait, that got ****** up too.

2020 *sigh*

I wonder if they are doing it on existing customer base, I also paid with a card and got the same email. I also have a my plan account and quite a few purchases from currys. I wonder if they are cancelling new customers if that makes sense.

I didn't have an account with them before today, plus I paid by card. I do wonder if the "we'll cancel all orders before 9am" was partly a ruse to cause panic and get some people to cancel their orders. That would solve their oversold stock issue to some degree.

my gf said he pulled up outside and delivered something small through the letterbox of next door.

i passed him when I went to the shops and recognise him, he’s delivered a few parcels for Amazon round here and delivered a phone case I ordered a couple of weeks back.

When setting up my PS5 is there any reason in copying anything from my PS4?

Can I not just download the games I want on the PS5 and my saves will come from the PS+ Cloud?

Theme (if preserved) and settings (if preserved), plus trophies (important if not synce don cloud), plus saves (easy to transfer on usb stick).

When I moved from base ps4 to ps4 pro, I deleted the games, and then did storage transfer to keep theme, accounts etc., wasnt bothered about redownloading content.

I'm fuming about the forced system wide HDR on the PS5, it ruins this console for an entertainment hub, with HDR enabled even if your playing an older SDR PS4 game it forces HDR on it, and even more crazy, it does the same for streaming, even SDR content like Startrek Next Gen on netflix, forced HDR!? What on earth were Sony thinking?

PS4 auto switched depending on the content rather than treating everything as HDR.

That could be a problem for people like me, because my capture device is HDR, the consoles detect HDR and allow me to use it, but as my monitor isnt HDR the colours look weird, so I turn it off, however if it is forced on via plug and play style then thats a bit of an oopsie.

I checked a few times in last 2-3 hours and no more appeared on amazon. I think there will be orders taken but dont be surprised if delivery dates are 2021.

Argos were spot on; never had any doubt and DPD delivered this morning according to their text and email notification. 10/10 for Argos.

Not going to get it until Xmas day though. Miles Morales and leaning towards Demon’s Souls for first games. Beat Bloodborne, gave up on Sekiro but the Gfx are pulling in for Demon’s Souls and 60fps lol

:( Sorry to hear about those that have been shafted one way or another today! I wanted to share how impressed I am with the controller and console etc. But I'd feel like a complete **** for doing so, so I won't. I was stood outside Game with my receipt at 7.30am expecting to be first in-line, there were roughly seventy people foaming at the mouth waiting in-line before I got there. lol.

So I was jumping with excitement around 2pm this afternoon as my Amazon app pinged saying 8 stops away.. the driver drove straight past my street on the app, I can still view the tracker and they have been stationary the last couple of hours might have a drive and see if he's at home playing it...

PS5 arrived, and pretty much updated. However I'm having trouble with my external USB drive. I plug it in, and it offers to format it as extended storage. But then it fails to be able to format it. Any body have any ideas? I've used disc utility on my Mac to format it as exFAT with a MBR, but that doesn't seem to be working.
