*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S5 Thread ***

Fingers crossed for a worldwide release. Perfect specs for me and what the S5 should have been really. None of this 16gb onboard and 2gb ram for a flagship **** anymore.

Been looking for Knox 2.0 and no sign of it. I presume that in their infinite wisdom Samsung will release this in a firmware update?

was chatting to voda about leaving, and they offered me a deal with the s5 and a free gear fit so I bit the bullet!

Should be here in a few days, excited.

Be nice to see what functionality it has with my samsung es8000 tv. Streaming tv shows on my note 2 and psuhing them to my tv wirelessly is a joy at the moment :D

it's a good phone as long as there not charging you too much.

free phone, free gear fit. 30% off the bill with 5gb data per month (+24 month spotify, red 4g L plan)

The woman did state a few things wrong, such as price (im presuming, she quoted a lower price/plan and the email I have is matching my current price but on a better plan) length of spotify (she said 6 months) and she also said 3gb data, but the email is stating otherwise so I'll complain later as I've got a transcript of the chat.

also went for the blue phone, something a bit different :D

Good deal, yeah a bit different is good.

I think I'll like it, note 2 is a little big and clumsy in all honesty. I've dropped it so many times due to its smooth surface and odd size.

Is it worth rooting yet? (Any amazing roms? Features you can't do without etc) I'm using xperia z ized which has a lot of os customisations and sony stuff which I like. If not i'll keep it stock for a while and play with the gear fit :)

seen this too?

I've not see anything worth rooting for.

I kind of agree. Adblock and xposed framework are the only things that are tempting me.

I would imagine that as this is an android exploit that it will be patched soon and future updates will not be available if you want to keep root and not trip Knox

For me it's:

Adblock - Fairly obvious, adds are annoying
DPI change - At stock the phones look like they were designed for people with next to no vision, no idea why things are that big! (Although this is apparently possible without root, but through a slight harder method)
Reduce the size of the navbar - Same as the DPI comment, why is this so ridiculously huge at stock!?

There's probably some others as well, but those three the main ones which come to mind.

Edit - Xposed is a very nice addition, lots of little tweaks which make using the phone a nicer experience. Nothing truly game changing though, so I guess I'd say it's not quite as important as the top three.

Anyone got usb 3 to work with the s5?

Using a spare cable from my friend who owns a note 3 and I don't get a usb connection option in the notification panel when connecting to my pc's usb 3 port. :/

Installed this ROM yesterday and used the flashable Aroma Add-Ons to hand pick a few more apps, bloody hell I didn't think the phone could perform any better but it sure has.

There is literally NO touchwiz lag no matter whatever I try to do and everything just seems to load that little bit faster and smoother.

Running with ktoonsez kernel:
