**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S7/Edge Thread ****

Annoyed no issue, phone has decided to put all my games into game launcher. I was quite fine with having them on my home screen thanks very much. They don't even appear in the apps list either! If you remove them from game launcher then you have to search for them as they still don't appear on the apps list!

Anyone else's home screens reset itself and all my apps are now all over the bloody place with loads of widgets on screen that I don't want? I was happy with my setup and now it's all over the shop. Microsoft Launcher keeps chiming in as well.

Strange. Now everything is back to normal again! Must have been MS Launcher, only needed to tell it 4 times not to be the default!

Have some strange battery use issues which then disappear as soon as they appear. On a Monday I work 9-9 and with only using it on my break it was down to 49% by 12. Plugged it into the PC via USB and charged it to 99% by about 2pm and then used it on my lunch and on a couple of 15 min breaks and it then only went down by around 20%. Very strange! Still see no real need to change at the moment and Sky Mobile reduced my monthly price to Data only (Free calls and texts as a Sky TV customer) which was nice.

Having occasional issues with battery life, not very often but heavy battery use even just while sitting on my desk at work. Example 96% when I left for work at 8:30, by 12 it was on 23% and I used it a couple of times on my break. Restarted and charged it to around 80% and it was fine for the rest of the day and has been since. No plans to change any time soon anyway.

Nearly melted my S7 Edge yesterday. Normally extremely careful where I put my phone down, but I put it down without looking properly, it was on my hob. Smelt burning behind me and reacted quickly. Fortunately it was in its case and hadn't gotten to the phone. Strangely I had been thinking of replacing the case only a couple of hours earlier. Was a decent enough case, only a tenner but lasted 2 years.

As it happens, my screen has developed burn in, I'm seeing a permanent ghost image of icons. I went to EE yesterday, they're going to send it to Samsung for repair as my 2 year warranty doesn't expire till March 23rd, so timing is fortunate.

Also, my contract renewal is up and I'm going sim only. I've been paying £37pm for unlimited calls and texts and 15gb data. Apparently I've averaged 5Gb a month usage so I'm going down to a 10Gb unlimited calls and texts tariff, will only cost £14pm. Great saving of over £20 pm.

Lucky escape then! My S7 is still going strong and will be two years old in May. No burn in that I've noticed and I'm struggling to think of any reason to change or upgrade it TBH.

Yep, very lucky escape. :) You might as well do the same as me then and go sim only if you're not considering changing the phone, you'll save quite a bit of money each month.
I'm with Sky on 'swap 12' so after 12 months the price went down anyway and next month is my final payment overall. Then it'll be £7.50pm for unlimited calls and texts and 8GB Data. Not bad!

Still rocking my S7 although I haven’t had a security update in a while. Have Samsung finally dropped support? Still don’t see anything that really takes my fancy and although I get great data deals through Sky their Handset selection is really poor.

hmm I can get the S10 for £22.50pm on a two year deal by cashing in 50GB of data. Hmm indeed.

Is that how the piggy bank works?

You can use your banked Data to get discounts on phones and accessories. At the moment it's £60 off by trading in 50GB of unused data. This drops my monthly price from £25.00 to £22.50. You can also trade in 15GB and bring it down to £23.75 or 32GB and get it for £23.33. All prices are +Data. I can also get the official Samsung wireless charger for £19.99 by trading in 20GB although I only have 57GB in my bank. That'll jump up again at the beginning of next month. I'm still undecided! I might wait until early next year.

One of my two lovely Anker charge cables isn't tightly locking into the phone anymore, nor is it charging unless I bend the black connector ever so slightly. But it won't stay charging when I let go, and bending the metal micro usb up or doesn't help. I think it's to do with two tiny metal contacts that look like they've either flattened or broken off. Maube I stepped on it. Seems a shame to throw what is otherwise a perfect cable compared to the white factory one. Don't suppose I can repair it?

Tried contacting Anker? Don’t they have a lifetime warranty?

Well there’s a turn up for the books. And a dramatic thread revival too. Just got a software update on my S7, the first in many months so must be something serious!
