** The Official Space Flight Thread - The Space Station and Beyond **

There appears to be a bird that gets pummelled by the water jets just as it starts. Not sure if the bird seen later on is the same one.

Well we can only wait for the next launch to see how well it does.
I hope the little birdie survived

Well now that Oceangate has got the ball rolling, I guess Branson's keen to keep the momentum.

Yeah the interesting thing is that no matter how hard cargo delivery space flight is, such as sending up satellites, sending up tourists as a business model is significantly more difficult and risky. If your spaceship carrying cargo blows up, you send up another - if you're carrying humans when it blows up, the FAA and the US government shuts down your flights and possibly kills your business

I saw some people arguing on Twitter that its up to SpaceX if they have to apply for a permit or not. That is ridiculous but it wouldn't surprise me one bit if regulators allowed it to be the case. They have allowed SpaceX so much slack, they were allowed to do the environmental impacts reports which considering its it surrounded by a nature reserve is laughable and is why both they and the agencies are being sued by environmental protection organisations.

If any of that water is running off in to the nature reserve the agency responsible should shut it down until SpaceX fix that.

“The determination of whether a discharge permit is needed is the responsibility of the business owner based on how they plan to manage wastewater,”
...
The TCEQ representative told CNBC that “no determination” has been made as to whether the activity violated environmental laws.
Company did something, it may be legal, or not, we don't know, stop the presses.

This written by someone who seems to do nothing but write constant negative pieces on Musk to try and find something that sticks. 19 of the last 20 articles on Musk/SpaceX/Tesla.

I'll wait for something more substantive to come out, IE TCEQ saying they broke the law.

Oops. Not sure how the reset command will work because the position should always be changing. We'll have to wait and see if they reestablish contact.

I guess future probes will have a revert change if no confirmation after x number of seconds hours feature :D
