***The Official Starfield Thread*** (As endorsed by TNA)

It's a Bethesda RPG so naturally I'm interested.

However after the poop-show that was FO4 and FO76, there's no way I'm buying this until it's been released and given the community nod.
The moto really, wait for reviews. I waited for reviews for the new starship trooper game, found it good then bought it and it really is good! I only paid £13 though so abit of a bargain.

The problem with star citizen is, it will forever be in development because its always trying to push the limits. Utilising the latest hardware and improving graphics, gameplay, stability etc. I remember when i first backed this game the requirements were something like a 3570k and a gtx 680 for optimal performance. God knows what it is now, last i tried i had a 9900kf and a rtx 3090 and it still ran like rubbish.
Bad performance is also due to MP, netcode is not great. Vulkan and server meshing should help solve this.

Speaking of performance, curious to see how Starfield will do since Fallout wasn't the best it could be.

I still read up on it every so often and see whats coming but it changes so quickly i do wonder what the end goal is at the end of the journey. I know someone who has invested thousands but he really enjoys it so i guess it makes sense if you want that kind of immersion and have the cash to invest into it.

Ah that boost sounds good, i was barely getting 60fps with a lot of frame drops down to 40/50 at times, not unplayable but for flying around it felt abit stuttery.

Don't mind waiting another 12 months, waited this long already whats another 12 lol.
Yes. In 12 months time we hope to see 4.0 released. Just wait for that patch before jumping back in.

When does Stratfield come out.? Does it have a specific release date or is it still just says 2023?

I quiet like this guys reviews and did a LOOONG overview on it:

Largely agree with most of what he said. Shooting for the stars and will likely full short IMO, but the sum of it should be that overall its fun.

Graphics wise I think tbh this looks better then Elden ring (flame suit on) and in that case was able to overlook it as it was fun IMO.

This game/style is exactly what I want from Bethesda. Not sure on the need for 1000 planets. Glad they didn't attempt some sort of planetary real time orbit to ground transition.

The last two ES games everone whinged about how there wasn't enough land. They announce 1000 planets and now everyone is saying it's too much land. It's almost like people just get off on criticising Bethesda.

It's different being one large map with tons of things to find while walking around and 1000 planets that are 99% empty.

i never once heard this complaint about ES. I only remember hearing that people thought that the main city in oblivion was way too small, which it was, considering the important of that place.

I do however agree that people shouldn't complain about something just yet with such limited knowledge. I have faith that, out of all the space games with many many many planets of emptiness, Bethesda will have most interesting ones to date.

1000 planets that are 99% empty
exactly. it's not comparable to a map with 5/6 towns in it.

That's a rod they have made for their own backs. When you act scummily, are untruthful and treat people badly, the don't expect people to treat you fairly and with respect. Ditto Blizzard.

Have people forgotten the Fallout 76 Power Armour Collectors Edition debacle or what about the Nuka Dark Rum episode?

One game I never paid much attention too hence asking with question.

Personally for me, loved all others games so was not understanding the issues given not been too close to 76 issued, hopefully they have lessons learned from issues that evidently beset Fallout 76. But also hopefully people do not Pre-order etc and wait for reviews so they do not get too upset if it fails to deliver for them.

Who can forget the collectors edition bag debacle where they claimed there was a worldwide shortage of canvas so they had to make the bags out ****** Nylon instead , then offered about fiver's worth of atoms as recompense...

This was part of $300 collectors edition by the way.

This was in the very same month as Billzard's famous "Do you guys not have phones?"
