***The Official Starfield Thread*** (As endorsed by TNA)

Level 35 now, and I've still to pursue the main quest. I've taken a Skyrim-esque approach to the game; explore, build my character, and try to "live" in the world Bethedsa have created. It's not working...Although I'm enjoying it overall, there are far too many issues that persist in pulling me out of immersion. I won't go into details, as to avoid spoilerific content, but there is no way that (for example) a crash site on one planet should be identical to one in another system; right down to the placement of loot / items. I don't recall such repetition being an issue in FO3/4 or Skyrim. Also, the whole modular ship building thing is doing my nut in. My ship looks like it was constructed by a blind lego enthusiast.

I'm a bit confused about the role of "The Hunter" Spoilerific question -

I've just completed the part where you meet The Hunter and The Emissary. The Emissary is another version of a deceased crew member (Sarah in this case), from another universe in which she became Starborn; fair enough, that much I understand. However, The Hunter is the religious guy from Jamison. So is he from your universe, or an alternate one? Reason I ask is because when I approached the religious guy post quest, he seemed to indicate that he was The Hunter. If he was from another universe, how would he know that? Ugh. My brain hurts.

Another end game question -

I've just gone onto new game plus. Do you end up meeting your alternate self from the new universe?

I'm in two minds whether or not to bother with NG+. I like the idea of advancing as a Starborn, but losing all the weapons, quest progress, ships etc that I've attained, puts me off.

Yeah pretty sure mate, did the legal scumbag people one, the pirates, the people who hate the pirates, the sherrif duty people, erm the other planet one where you find that ship that's been nicked etc, the main story, I think that's it isn't it?
Yeah filler content really annoys me, how about bin that and side quests and give me a phat lengthier main story? Not rocket science if you can pay people to make side story that's often only partial relevance.
Have you done the quest involving the factory that has been separated into two alternate universes? Or the one in the facility ran by ex criminals? Both good fun imo.

Who is that for? As in who hires you? Is that the one where you're meant to go in stealth but can go in guns blazing and the corpo company kicks off? As if so yep!

It does sound familiar name wise, I'll have to check my completed missions, cheers for that!

Nope definitely haven't done the Starseed one! Nice one! Just had a brief look into that. I like the idea of it being a long one not just a quick bit of filler.
Yeah the ship building doesn't really appeal to me, once I've flown to all the missions I don't see what I'd do with any new ships, just blow randoms out of the skies for half hour then get bored? No offense. Just seems like something I should have done whilst doing missions but I never had enough money to do this, which really annoyed me!

That'd be cool if that's true, as you say normally in other games it is straight up bs filler content, where they could have just taken all the side/optional stuff out and made the main story a beast, why why don't people do this, a main story is never long enough and when it get's going it ends - hello Cyberpunk! That's why I'm so grateful Phantom Liberty fixed that and ran parallel, just a shame it wasn't released together in 1 originally!
No, differnt quest. It's picked up by talking to someone on a random planet, the name of which escapes me. One of the best quests in the game imo.

I'm baffled by how poor the performance is. I started playing Cyberpunk 2077 again last night; max settings, looks amazing, runs perfectly. Starfield on the other hand, looks dreadful, and runs poorly; fps drops to sub 40 in some areas. Meh, 160hrs, so at least I've got my money worth.

Has a release date for the first dlc been announced yet? At this point, it's the only thing that would get me playing again.
