It's out on the 12th September 2022.

New stuff:
  • Low power mode for Apple Watch Series 4 and later
  • Four new Apple Watch faces
  • Added running metrics
  • Track heart rate zones while working out
  • Atrial fibrillation history for those diagnosed with AFib
  • Support for six new keyboard languages
  • Sleep Stages tracking added to Sleep app
  • Family Setup adds HomeKit support
  • Notifications for medication management with new Medications app
  • Slimline notification banners
  • Redesigned Calendar app
  • Redesigned Dock
  • New Quick Actions with AssistiveTouch
I've been using the final version for a few days and it's perfectly fine, an evolution rather than a revolution. I'm starting to get old now so I've set up the medication stuff in the Health app in iOS16 and it's working well on the watch. I'm not particularly bothered about the new faces but I've set one up and again, it's perfectly fine. I've gone back to the same face I've been using for years! I do wish Apple would allow full third party faces to be used but perhaps that'll come one day.

The watchOS thread doesn't normally get a lot of attention but it would be remiss of me not to post one :)

Anyone noticed the splits announcement in WatchOS 9 now includes the time for the split but then repeats that pace for the average instead of the correct value across all the splits?

Bug or a control/setting I haven’t found yet?
